Organisaatioiden toiminnasta syntyy valtava m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 tietoa, ja p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksentekoon vaikuttaa kompleksi tiedon tulkintojen ja riippuvuuksien verkko. Lis\u00e4ksi muutosher\u00e4tteiden m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 ja muutoksen nopeus vaativat toisaalta uudenlaista riippumattomuutta yksitt\u00e4isest\u00e4 osaajasta tai toimijasta ja toisaalta joustavasti muuntautuvia yksil\u00f6iden ja organisaatioiden ekosysteemej\u00e4. Tiet\u00e4myksenhallintaa on tutkittu laajalti ja monitieteellisesti usean vuosikymmenen ajan, kattaen my\u00f6s tiet\u00e4myksenhallinnan onnistumisen edellytysten j\u00e4sentely\u00e4 ja menestyksen mittaamisen malleja. Aiemmassa tutkimuksessa ei ole kuitenkaan tullut juurikaan esille, miten organisaatiot ilment\u00e4v\u00e4t tiet\u00e4myksenhallintaan liittyvi\u00e4 panostuksiaan ja saavutuksiaan ulkoisessa yrityskuvassaan. Toisin sanoen, miss\u00e4 m\u00e4\u00e4rin organisaatiot sis\u00e4llytt\u00e4v\u00e4t tiet\u00e4myksenhallinnan, ja erityisesti hiljaisen tiedon hallinnan arvolupauksia asiakassuhteiden luomiseen ja vahvistamiseen, sijoitusprofiloitumiseen sek\u00e4 henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n rekrytointiin ja ulkoisten osaamisresurssien tavoittamiseen. T\u00e4m\u00e4 pro gradu -tutkielma tarkastelee hiljaisen tiedon hallinnan tunnusmerkkej\u00e4 ja n\u00e4kyvyytt\u00e4 organisaation strategisena resurssina. Se syntetisoi kirjallisuuskatsauksen pohjalta hiljaisen tiedon hallinnan menes-tystekij\u00f6it\u00e4 ja arvioi kvalitatiivisena tapaustutkimuksena niiden n\u00e4kyvyytt\u00e4 Suomessa toimivien IT-palveluja tuottavien organisaatioiden yrityskuvassa. The activities of organizations generate a huge amount of information, and decisionmaking is influenced by a complex network of interpretations and dependencies of information. In addition to this, the number of stimuli for change and the speed of change require a new kind of independence from an individual expert or actor, as well as the flexibly changing ecosystems of individuals and organizations. Knowledge management has been studied extensively and multidisciplinary for several decades, also covering the structuring of the preconditions for knowledge management success and models for measuring success. However, previous research has revealed little about how organizations embody their knowledge management related investments and achievements in their external corporate image. In other words, the extent to which organizations incorporate the value promises of knowledge management, and in particular tacit knowledge management, into building and strengthening customer relationships, investment profiling, staff recruitment and access to external expertise resources. This master\u2019s thesis examines the success factors and visibility of tacit knowledge management as a strategic resource for an organization. Based on a literature review, it synthesizes the success factors of valuecreating tacit knowledge management and evaluates their visibility in the corporate image of IT service organizations operating in Finland as a qualitative case study.
