Tekoälyn määritelmän ollessa toistaiseksi vaikeaselkoinen, ja maatalouden ollessa käsitteenä hyvin laaja, on tutkielmassa rajattu näkökulma. Tekoäly nähdään yhdistelmänä useampia teknologioita, jonka yhteisvaikutusta voidaan kuvata älykkääksi. Maatalouden osalta taas erityisen huomion saa maanviljely, ja erityisesti sen jokseenkin uusi tekniikka, täsmäviljely. Kirjallisuuskatsauksen johtopäätöksenä voidaan todeta, että uusien tekniikoiden tutkiminen ja kehittäminen on maanviljelyn kannalta erittäin tärkeää. Tekoäly tuo laaja-alaisesti mahdollisuuksia uusille toimintatavoille, joilla voidaan taklata muuttuvien olosuhteiden asettamia haasteita. Suurimmaksi haasteeksi kirjallisuuskatsauksen perusteella voidaan nähdä toistaiseksi tekoälyteknologioiden rajoittuneisuus, suuret investointikustannukset sekä lainsäädännön ja tukiverkostojen riittämättömyys. The aim of this Bachelor´s thesis was through to find out what kind of effects artificial intelligence (AI) and technologies based on it have on agriculture. This was pursued by conducting a literature review where firstly definitions of artificial intelligence and agriculture were examined. The viewpoints in this thesis were highly concentrated due to the complexity and broadness of definitions. Artificial intelligence is seen as a combination of technologies which together can be described as intelligent. For agriculture the emphasis in this thesis will be on crop management and specifically on precision farming. As a result of this literature review it can be concluded that there is a need for researching further and developing new technologies for the agriculture in-dustry. Artificial intelligence may provide new ways of practice in a large scale to the field of agriculture with which to tackle the challenges of a changing environment. According to this literature review the most significant chal-lenges with AI can be viewed as constrictions in the functions of current artificial intelligence technologies, demand of high-cost investments and limitations in legislation in addition to insufficiency in support networks.
