Tutkielma toteutettiin systemaattisena kirjallisuuskatsauksena alan tieteellisest\u00e4 kirjallisuudesta. Kirjallisuuskatsauksen aineiston keruussa hy\u00f6dynnettiin muun muassa elektronisia kirjastoja, alan aikakausilehti\u00e4 sek\u00e4 konferenssijulkaisuja. Tutkielman tavoitteena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 vastaus tutkimuskysymykseen: \u201dMillainen arvonluontiprosessi jakamistalouden alustoilla on?\u201d Lis\u00e4ksi haluttiin selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, miksi juuri kyseinen arvonluontiprosessi sopii jakamistalouden asettamaan ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6\u00f6n sek\u00e4 millaiset erityispiirteet ovat jakamistalouden alustoille ominaisia. Tutkielman tarkoituksena oli tuottaa arvokasta tietoa jakamistalouden alustojen ja niill\u00e4 tapahtuvan arvonluontiprosessin v\u00e4lisest\u00e4 yhteydest\u00e4 niin tieteellisen yhteis\u00f6n n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta kuin jakamistalouteen liiketoimintaansa pohjaavien yritystenkin kannalta. Tutkielmassa perehdyttiin jakamistalouden, jakamistalouden alustojen, digitaalisten alustojen, arvon, arvonluontiprosessin sek\u00e4 arvon yhteisluonnin ja -tuhoamisen k\u00e4sitteisiin. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkielmassa vertailtiin jakamistalouden l\u00e4heisi\u00e4 ilmi\u00f6it\u00e4 ja ilmi\u00f6iden eroja suhteessa toisiinsa sek\u00e4 perehdyttiin tarkemmin arvonluontiprosessiin jakamistalouden alustojen kontekstissa. Olemassa olevan kirjallisuuden pohjalta tunnistettiin jakamistalouden alustojen arvonluontiprosessin peruselementit ja elementtien v\u00e4liset suhteet, joita kuvaamaan tutkielmaan luotiin havainnollistava mallinnus. Tutkielman johtop\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksen\u00e4 jakamistalouden alustojen arvonluontiprosessin todettiin noudattavan arvon yhteisluonnin mallia. Kirjallisuuden pohjalta jakamistalouden alustojen erityispiireiksi tunnistettiin niiden perustavanlaatuinen tarkoitus mahdollistaa ja helpottaa vertaisten v\u00e4list\u00e4 vuorovaikutusta sek\u00e4 korvata perinteiset markkinatalouden roolitukset kuluttajia osallistavalla vertaisten v\u00e4lisell\u00e4 liiketoiminnalla. The research was carried out as a systematic literature review of scientific literature in the field. Electronic libraries, scientific journals and conference proceedings were utilized in the process of collecting the source material. The objective of the research was to answer to the research question: \u201cWhat kind of value creation process do sharing economy platforms enable?\u201d In addition, the intention was to uncover why said specific value creation process particularly suits sharing economy platforms, and what special features are characteristic to sharing economy platforms. The purpose of the Thesis was to produce valuable information about the connection between sharing economy platforms and their value creation process for the scientific community as well as for companies operating in the sphere of sharing economy. The concepts of sharing economy, sharing economy platforms, digital platforms, value, value creation process and value co-creation and \u2013destruction were discussed in the Thesis. In addition, some concepts closely related to sharing economy were discussed and the differences between these concepts were identified. Following these topics, the value creation process of sharing economy platforms was examined more closely. Based on existing scientific literature, the basic elements of sharing economy platforms\u2019 value creation process and the relations between these elements were identified. An illustrative modeling of the elements and their relations was created to summarize the findings. As a conclusion, the research found that value is created through the model of value co-creation on sharing economy platforms. Based on the literature, the research also found that sharing economy platforms differentiate from other digital platforms with their unique fundamental purpose to enable and mitigate peer-to-peer interaction and to replace the traditional roles of market economy with an inclusive model that activates the consumer and enables peer-to-peer transactions.
