Tutkimukseni tarkoitus oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 kolmen makean veden simpukan (Anodonta anatina, A. cygnea ja Unio tumidus) hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4minen kalanviljelyn j\u00e4tevedess\u00e4 kasvatettujen kahden viherlev\u00e4lajin (Monoraphidium griffithii ja Selenastrum sp.) ja levien sitomien ravinteiden suodattamiseksi vedest\u00e4 ja onko eri simpukka- ja lev\u00e4yhdistelmill\u00e4 vaikutusta lev\u00e4nsuodatustehokkuuteen tai ravinteiden m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4n. Molempia lev\u00e4lajeja varten oli 10 tutkimus- ja 2 kontrolliallasta ja kokeet toistettiin 5 litran altaissa nelj\u00e4sti. Levien sis\u00e4lt\u00e4mi\u00e4 nitraattia ja fosfaattia ei vapautunut altaisiin kokeiden aikana. Ammoniumtypen m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 kasvoi merkitsev\u00e4sti altaissa, joissa oli Selenastrum sp. \u2013lev\u00e4\u00e4. Ammoniumtypen m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4 Selenastrum sp. -lev\u00e4altaissa oli keskim\u00e4\u00e4rin 0,56\u00b10,12 mg/l ja M. griffithii \u2013altaissa 0,14\u00b10,12 mg/l. Simpukat suodattivat tehokkaammin M. griffithii lev\u00e4\u00e4 kuin Selenastrum sp. -lev\u00e4\u00e4. Yksil\u00f6tasolla A. cygnea \u2013simpukoiden suodatusnopeus n. n. 150 ml/h/yksil\u00f6 oli korkein. Kokoon suh-teutettuna Anodonta-suvun simpukat suodattivat U. tumidus -simpukoita tehokkaammin Selenastrum sp. -lev\u00e4\u00e4 mutta M. griffithii -lev\u00e4n suodatuksessa ei ollut simpukkalajien v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 merkitsevi\u00e4 eroja. Anodonta-suvun simpukoiden suodatusnopeus oli n. 38 mg/h/g molemmilla lev\u00e4lajeilla. U. tumidus -simpukoiden suodatusnopeus oli Selenastrum sp. \u2013lev\u00e4ll\u00e4 12 mg/h/g ja M. griffithii -lev\u00e4ll\u00e4 n. 32 mg/h/g. Tutkimuksessa havaittiin, ett\u00e4 M. griffithii -lev\u00e4 soveltui paremmin tutkimusolosuhteisiin, sill\u00e4 se lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyi kokeiden aikana himme\u00e4sti valaistussa tutkimustilassa ilman ulkopuolista ravinnel\u00e4hdett\u00e4. Tutkimuksen perusteella j\u00e4rvisimpukoita voitaisiin hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 kalanviljelyn j\u00e4tevesist\u00e4 ravinteet puhdistaneiden viherlevien poistamisessa vedest\u00e4.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "Green algae are effective in reducing nutrients from the wastewater. The purpose of this study was to find out if green algae (Selenastrum sp. and Monoraphidium griffithii) grown in recirculating aquaculture system effluent, and the nutrients it contains, can be removed from the water by using freshwater mussels (Anodonta anatina, A. cygnea and Unio tumidus) and if different combinations of algae and mussel species effects the filtering rate or nutrient concentrations. There were 10 tanks with one mussel and 2 control tanks without mussel for each alga and the tests were conducted 4 times in 5 liter tanks. According to the study, no nitrate or phosphate was released to the test tanks during the experiments. Ammonium concentrations increased significantly in Selenastrum sp. tanks. Ammonium levels in tanks containing Selenastrum sp. averaged at 0,56\u00b10,12 mg/l and in tanks con-taining M. griffithii at 0,14\u00b10,12 mg/l. Ammonium was found also in the Selenastrum sp. control tanks. Individual A. cygnea had the highest filtering rate for both algae species at approximately 150 ml/h/individual. Mussels of genus Anodonta had the highest size dependent filtering rate for Selenastrum sp. algae. Size de-pendent filtering rate for M. griffithii didn\u2019t differ significantly between mussel species. Size-dependent filtration rate for both Anodonta and algae species was approximately 38 ml/h/g. Size dependent filtration rate for U. tumidus was approximately 32 ml/h/g for M. griffithii and 12 ml/h/g for Selenastrum sp. The study showed that M. griffithii was more suited to the environment of the test setup as it could grow in the dimly lit space with no external source of nutrients.
