Yksi hyvinvointiin liittyvist\u00e4 biomarkkereista on sykev\u00e4livaihtelu. Sykev\u00e4livaihtelua pidet\u00e4\u00e4n heijasteena monelle fysiologiselle tapahtumalle, kuten stressille, levolle ja palautumiselle. Perinteisesti sykev\u00e4livaihtelun analysointi on kuitenkin vaatinut kalliita erikoislaitteistoja, jotka eiv\u00e4t ole soveltuneet jokap\u00e4iv\u00e4iseen kuluttajak\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n. Viime vuosina uusia yksinkertaisempia l\u00e4hestymistapoja, kuten fotopletysmografia, on tullut markkinoille kuluttajak\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n.\n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 ranteesta fotopletysmografialla mitatun pulssiv\u00e4livaihtelun ja elektrokardiografialla mitatun sykev\u00e4livaihtelun vastaavuutta yhden y\u00f6n pituisen mittausjakson aikana. Lis\u00e4ksi tarkasteltiin kehon koon ja koostumuksen yhteytt\u00e4 mitatun fotopletysmografian mittaustarkkuuteen. Yhteens\u00e4 29 perustervett\u00e4 miest\u00e4 (n=11, ik\u00e4 28,7 \u00b1 6,4 vuotta) ja naista (n=18, ik\u00e4 28,4 \u00b1 5,6 vuotta) osallistui tutkimukseen. Analysoitava aineisto m\u00e4\u00e4ritettiin tutkittavien t\u00e4ytt\u00e4mien p\u00e4iv\u00e4kirjojen mukaisesti. Sykev\u00e4livaihteluita ja pulssiv\u00e4livaihteluita m\u00e4\u00e4ritettiin yleisill\u00e4 aikataso- ja taajuustasomenetelmill\u00e4.\n\nRanteeseen puettavalla optisella pulssimittarilla (MAX-HEALTH-BAND) mitattujen pulssiv\u00e4livaihteluiden ja perinteisell\u00e4 EKG:ll\u00e4 mitattujen (Bittium Faros 180) sykev\u00e4livaihtelujen v\u00e4linen korrelaatio oli vahva (r=0,880, P < 0,05). Hyv\u00e4\u00e4 yhtenev\u00e4isyytt\u00e4 Bland-Altman analyysien perusteella (Bland-Altman suhdeluku, BAR < 10 %) havaittiin intervallipituuden keskiarvon, sykkeen keskiarvon sek\u00e4 5 minuutin NN-intervallijaksojen keskiarvon keskihajontojen suhteen (SDNNI). Tutkittavien kehon koon sek\u00e4 koostumuksen ja absoluuttisten mittaustarkkuuksien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 ei l\u00f6ytynyt merkitsevi\u00e4 korrelaatioita. One biomarker, used to measure wellbeing, is heart rate variability. It is considered to be a reflex to many physiological events, such as stress, rest, and recovery. Traditionally to analyze heart rate variability, it has required expensive specialty equipment that has not been suitable to consumer use. In recent years, new, simpler approaches, such as photoplethysmography, have entered the market for consumer use.\nThe purpose of this study was to determine the comparability of pulse rate variability, measured with photoplethysmography of the wrist and heart rate variability measured with electrocardiography during one-night measurement period. In addition, the relationship between body size and composition and the measurement accuracy of the measured photoplethysmography was examined. In total 29 healthy men (n=11, age 28.7 \u00b1 6.4 years) and women (n=18, age 28.4 \u00b1 5.6 years) participated. The material analyzed was determined according to the diaries completed by the subjects. Heart rate- and pulse rate variability were determined by common time- and frequency domain methods.\nThe correlation between pulse rate variability measured with a wrist-wearing optical pulse meter (MAX-HEALTH-BAND) and heart rate variability measured with electrocardiography (Bittium Faros 180) was strong (r = 0.880, P <0.05). Good agreement with Bland-Altman analyzes (Bland-Altman ratio, BAR <10%) was found to be with mean length of the intervals between heart beats, the average heart rate, and the standard deviation of the average NN-intervals for each of the 5 min segment (SDNNI). No significant correlations were found between the anthropometric data examined and absolute measurement accuracies.
