T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin kuinka koulutusvienti\u00e4, erityisesti opetussuunnitelman ja pedagogiikan osalta, voidaan suunnitella ja lokalisoida kulttuurisesti responsiivisella tavalla kunnioittaen paikallisen kulttuurin erityispiirteit\u00e4. Tutkimus toteutettiin Aasiassa sijaitsevalla ala-asteella, jossa k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n suomalaisen perusopetuksen opetussuunnitelman perusteiden lokalisoitua versiota.\n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4 laadullinen tutkimus hy\u00f6dynsi Geneva Gayn kulttuurisesti responsiivisen opetuksen l\u00e4hestymistapaa. Luokkahuonehavainnot ker\u00e4ttiin CRIOP-observointity\u00f6kalun avulla ja pyrkimyksen\u00e4 oli tunnistaa mitk\u00e4 opetusk\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6t ovat yhteydess\u00e4 kulttuuriseen responsiivisuuteen (noin 40 tuntia luokkahuonek\u00e4yt\u00e4nt\u00f6jen havainnointia). Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin kuinka paikallinen konteksti ja erityisesti sen kulttuuriset ulottuvuudet huomioidaan opetussuunnitelman suunnittelussa ja lokalisoinnissa. Aineistona k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n my\u00f6s opettajille (N=11) laaditun kyselyn vastauksia. \n\nKulttuurisesti responsiivisia opetusk\u00e4yt\u00e4nt\u00f6j\u00e4 havaittiin kolmella temaattisella alueella ja aineistosta nostettiin esiin k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n esimerkkej\u00e4 responsiivisista luokkahuonek\u00e4yt\u00e4nteist\u00e4. Lokalisoituun opetussuunnitelmaan oli lis\u00e4tty kolme uutta ainetta, mutta p\u00e4\u00e4piirteitt\u00e4\u00e4n opetussuunnitelman lokalisointi tunnistettiin luokkahuonetason toiminnaksi sill\u00e4 paikallisten kulttuuristen piirteiden sis\u00e4llytt\u00e4minen opetussuunnitelmaan tapahtui p\u00e4\u00e4asiassa luokkahuonetasolla. Johtop\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksiss\u00e4 tarkastellaan paikallistamiseen liittyvi\u00e4 haasteita erityisesti kulttuuristen piirteiden osalta. This research intends to explore how exported education, specifically curriculum and pedagogy, can be planned and localised in a culturally responsive manner by fostering and respecting local cultural characteristics. A primary school in Asia is brought to the centre of this study, where a localised version of the Finnish National Core Curriculum for Basic Education has been implemented. \n\nThis qualitative research draws from Geneva Gay\u2019s culturally responsive teaching (CRT) approach, and the CRIOP observation framework was also applied to identify which educational practices are indicative of cultural responsiveness (approx. 40 hours of observations). A teachers\u2019 qualitative questionnaire (N=11) was conducted to further explore how the local context, and particularly its cultural dimensions, are considered in the curriculum planning and localisation. \n\nCulturally responsive practices were identified in three thematic areas and practical examples of effective CRT practices were found. While three new local subjects had been added to the localized curriculum, the curriculum localisation was identified as a classroom level practice as the inclusion of local cultural features took mainly place on classroom level. Discussion explores some of the challenges regarding the inclusion of local cultural characteristics to the curriculum.
