Tässä tutkielmassa selvitettiin juoksijan kontaktiajan arviointia kenkään kiinnitettävän kiihtyvyysanturin datasta. Tutkielma noudatti suunnittelutieteellisen tutkimuksen paradigmaa. Tutkielma antaa suuntaviivat, joilla mallin kaltaista ratkaisua voi soveltaa käytännössä The research question of this thesis is estimating runner’s ground contact time from a shoe attached acceleration sensor. The research followed the Design Science Research paradigm. Estimating the contact time was performed as a classification problem with a Random Forest algorithm. The classification models were able to classify contact moments with the precision of 88,2 %. Of all the contact moments 76,9 % were classified correctly. Estimation is possible with a fitting application. The thesis guidelines how the classification model would be applicable and usable in practice.
