Tutkimuksen tavoitteena\noli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 n\u00e4iden muuttujien v\u00e4list\u00e4 yhteytt\u00e4 matalan, keskitason, ja korkean sosioekonomisen\naseman omaavien perheiden osalta. Tavoitteena oli my\u00f6s tarkastella n\u00e4it\u00e4 muuttujia\nluokka-asteittain sek\u00e4 sukupuolittain (tyt\u00f6t/pojat). Vanhempien tuen muutoksia tutkimalla pyrittiin\nselvitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n luokka-asteiden v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja vanhempien tuessa.\nT\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkimus toteutettiin kvantitatiivisin tutkimusmenetelmin ja siin\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin osaa vuoden\n2016 LIITU-tutkimuksen aineistosta (n=1126). Kohderyhm\u00e4\u00e4 tarkasteltiin yksinkertaisilla ja\nkaksiulotteisilla frekvenssijakaumilla. Varianssianalyysej\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin selvitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n sek\u00e4 koetun\nliikunta-aktiivisuuden ett\u00e4 vanhempien sosiaalisen tuen jakautumista eri sosioekonomisissa\nryhmiss\u00e4. Riippumattomien ryhmien testej\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin selvitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n eroja liikunta-aktiivisuudessa\nluokka-asteittain ja sukupuolittain. Lis\u00e4ksi n\u00e4it\u00e4 testej\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin \u00e4idin ja is\u00e4n kokonaisen\nsek\u00e4 osittaisen tuen muutoksien selvitt\u00e4miseen luokka-asteiden v\u00e4lill\u00e4. Vanhempien tuen ja lasten\nja nuorten koetun liikunta-aktiivisuuden sek\u00e4 sosioekonomisen aseman v\u00e4listen yhteyksien\nkorrelaatioita testattiin.\nVanhempien sosiaalisen tuen sek\u00e4 lasten ja nuorten liikunta-aktiivisuuden v\u00e4lill\u00e4 l\u00f6ydettiin v\u00e4h\u00e4inen,\nmutta positiivinen yhteys. Vanhempien tuki kasvoi korkeamman sosioekonomisen aseman\nmy\u00f6t\u00e4. Korkean sosioekonomisen aseman ryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 liikunta-aktiivisuus oli muita ryhmi\u00e4\nkorkeampaa. Vanhempien tuki v\u00e4heni luokka-asteiden v\u00e4lill\u00e4, ja pojat nauttivat is\u00e4n tuesta tytt\u00f6j\u00e4\nuseammin. Is\u00e4n tuki oli voimakkaimmin yhteydess\u00e4 rasittavaan liikkumiseen.\nL\u00f6yd\u00f6sten perusteella n\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 silt\u00e4, ett\u00e4 vanhempien matalaan sosioekonomiseen asemaan liittyv\u00e4\nv\u00e4h\u00e4isempi tuki on jossain m\u00e4\u00e4rin yhteydess\u00e4 nuorten liikunta-aktiivisuuden v\u00e4henemiseen\nsiirrytt\u00e4ess\u00e4 5. luokalta 7. luokalle. Vaikka tutkimus antoi tietoa vanhempien sosiaalisen\ntuen ja lasten ja nuorten liikunta-aktiivisuuden yhteyksist\u00e4, ei vanhempien sosiaalisen tuen tarkastelulla\nonnistuttu kartoittamaan sosioekonomisten liikunta-aktiivisuuserojen taustatekij\u00f6it\u00e4,\njoita tulisi tutkia lis\u00e4\u00e4 t\u00e4st\u00e4 n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The purpose of this Master\u2019s thesis was to study parental social support\u2019s relation to the perceived\nphysical activity of 5th and 7th grade children and adolescents. The aim was to find out\nthe relations between these variables in low, medium, and high SES families. The aim was also\nto investigate these variables by grades and sexes (girls/boys). The examination of the parental\nsupport was conducted to find out differences in the parental support between the two grades.\nThis study was conducted by using quantitative methods, and part of the data of LIITU 2016\nstudy was used in it (n=1126). The target group was examined by simple and two-dimensional\nfrequency distributions. Analyses of variance were used to find out the distribution of perceived\nphysical activity and parental social support through different SES groups. Independent samples\ntests were used to investigate the differences in physical activity between grades and sexes.\nThese tests were also used to find out the changes in both overall and partial parental support\nbetween the two grades. The correlation between parental social support and perceived physical\nactivity of children and adolescents, and SES was tested.\nA scarce, but positive relation was found between parental social support and the perceived\nphysical activity of children and adolescents. Parental support increased in accordance with\nhigher SES. Physical activity levels were highest in the high SES group. Parental support was\nfound to decrease between the two grades, and boys received paternal support more often than\ngirls. Paternal support had the strongest connection to moderate-to-vigorous physical activity.\nAccording to the findings, it appears that the decreasing amount of parental social support associated\nwith low SES may have some level significance in the decreasing physical activity\nwhen moving from the 5th grade to the 7th.
