Koulussa itseohjautuva toiminta ilmenee oppilaan oma-aloitteisena, suunnitelmallisena ja pitk\u00e4j\u00e4nteisen\u00e4 ty\u00f6skentelyn\u00e4. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa selvitettiin nelj\u00e4n eri yl\u00e4koulun yhdeks\u00e4nnen luokan oppilaiden ja heid\u00e4n biologian aineenopettajiensa kokemuksia siit\u00e4, miten oppilaan itseohjautuvuuden kehityst\u00e4 voidaan tukea opetusmenetelmien ja ty\u00f6tapojen avulla ihmisen biologian kurssilla. Tutkimuksessa selvitettiin my\u00f6s millaiset valmiudet yhdeks\u00e4sluokkalaisilla on soveltaa ihmisen biologian tietoja. Oppilaille pidettiin anonyymi s\u00e4hk\u00f6inen kysely ja opettajille puolistrukturoitu teemahaastattelu. Tulosten perusteella voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 ihmisen biologian kurssi pystyy edist\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n oma-aloitteisuuden ja pitk\u00e4j\u00e4nteisen ty\u00f6skentelyn kautta oppilaan itseohjautuvaa toimintaa. Opetusmenetelmien ja ty\u00f6tapojen monipuolisuus ei suoraan t\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen perusteella edist\u00e4 oppilaan itseohjautuvuutta. Opetusmenetelmien monipuolisuus kuitenkin tukee oppilaan oma-aloitteisuuden ja pitk\u00e4j\u00e4nteisyyden kehityst\u00e4. Oppilaiden kyvyss\u00e4 soveltaa ihmisen biologian kurssin tietoja oli eroja koulujen v\u00e4lill\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen perusteella voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 yksitt\u00e4isen oppiaineen yksitt\u00e4inen kurssi pystyy edist\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n oppilaan oma-aloitteisuutta ja pitk\u00e4j\u00e4nteisyytt\u00e4 ja n\u00e4in tukemaan oppilaiden itseohjautuvuuden kehityst\u00e4, josta on hy\u00f6ty\u00e4 peruskoulunsa loppusuoralla oleville, pian jatkokoulutukseen tai ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n siirtyville nuorille.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "Self-direction is person\u2019s quality that combines many other abilities. In the context of learning, self-directed action that supports student\u2019s learning appears when student is working enterprisingly, systematically, and persistently. In this study, four upper comprehensive schools were taken on examination. The aim of this study was to examine 9th grade students\u2019 and their biology teachers\u2019 experiences on how teaching methods in the human biology course can promote student\u2019s self-directed actions. It was also studied how well 9th grade students can apply their biology skills in their everyday life. Material of this study consists of an electric and anonymous survey directed to students and a half-structured theme interview applied to their biology teachers. Student\u2019s ability to work initiatively developed during the human biology course. It was also found that students\u2019 ability to work on a long-term basis significantly affected this initiative ability. Based on this study it can be pointed out that human biology course, that is carried out in accordance with the new National core curriculum for comprehensive school, can promote student\u2019s self-direction during initiative and perseverance actions. Further it can be said that diversity of teaching methods does not clearly affect student\u2019s self-direction but affects those abilities that then affect self-directed action. There were also differences between the four schools in students\u2019 ability to apply their knowledge in biology in everyday life.
