Esineiden internetti\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynnet\u00e4\u00e4n\r\nniin kotitalouksissa kuin teollisuudessakin erilaisten teht\u00e4vien hoitamiseen\r\nja liiketoiminnan tehostamiseen. Yleistymisen my\u00f6t\u00e4 on kuitenkin her\u00e4nnyt\r\npaljon kysymyksi\u00e4 IoT laitteiden turvallisuuteen ja skaalautumiseen liittyen\r\nnykyisen arkkitehtuurimallin puitteissa. Ennen kuin IoT voidaan ottaa laajemmin\r\nk\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n, on siihen liittyv\u00e4t heikkoudet pyritt\u00e4v\u00e4 ratkaisemaan mahdollisimman\r\ntehokkaasti. Yksi keino n\u00e4iden heikkouksien ratkaisuun on lohkoketjuteknologian\r\nk\u00e4ytt\u00f6 osana IoT-ekosysteemeit\u00e4. Tutkielman tavoitteena on tutkia\r\nkuinka IoT:n ja lohkoketjuteknologian yhdist\u00e4minen tapahtuu erilaisten mallien\r\navulla ja millaisia positiivisia vaikutuksia sill\u00e4 on. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkielmassa otetaan\r\nkantaan tiedossa oleviin mahdollisiin ongelmiin. Tutkielma toteutettiin kirjallisuuskatsauksena\r\nja sen lopputuloksena saatiin selville erilaisia malleja, joilla\r\nyhdist\u00e4minen voidaan toteuttaa. Tutkimuksessa saatiin my\u00f6s selville, mink\u00e4laisia\r\npositiivisia vaikutuksia lohkoketjujen k\u00e4yt\u00f6ll\u00e4 on IoT laitteiden toimintaan\r\nerilaissa ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6iss\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4n lis\u00e4ksi selville saatiin mahdolliset ongelmat, joita\r\nvoi ilmet\u00e4 teknologioiden yhdist\u00e4misen seurauksena. Tutkielmassa todettiin,\r\nett\u00e4 lohkoketjujen ja IoT laitteiden onnistuneella migraatiolla saadaan huomattavaa\r\netua, verrattuna vanhaan keskitettyyn arkkitehtuuriin. Keskeisi\u00e4 etuja on\r\nhajautetun arkkitehtuurin tuoma vakaus ja tiedon s\u00e4ilyvyys. Erityisesti lohkoketjujen\r\nja IoT-ekosysteemeiden rooli osana teollisuuden kehityst\u00e4 on tutkielmassa\r\nsuuressa osassa. The Internet of Things is used in both households and\r\nindustry to perform various tasks and increase business efficiency. However,\r\nwith widespread use, many questions have been raised about the security and\r\nscalability of IoT devices within the current architectural model. Before IoT can\r\nbe more widely deployed in everyday life and in critical infrastructure, its\r\nweaknesses must be addressed as effectively as possible. One way to address\r\nthese weaknesses is to use blockchain technology as part of IoT ecosystems. The\r\naim of this thesis is to investigate how the migration of IoT and blockchain\r\ntechnology takes place using different models and what positive effects it has.\r\nIn addition, the thesis takes a position on known problems. This thesis was carried\r\nout as a literature review. The study also found out what positive effects\r\nthe use of blockchains has on the operation of IoT devices in different environments.\r\nIn addition, potential problems that may arise as a result of the combination\r\nof technologies were identified. The study found that successful migration\r\nof blockchains and IoT-devices provides a significant advantage over the old\r\ncentralized architecture. Key benefits include the stability and data retention\r\nprovided by a decentralized architecture. In particular, the role of blockchains\r\nand IoT ecosystems as part of industrial development is largely covered in the\r\ndissertation.
