Motivaatiomuuttujina\nolivat teht\u00e4v\u00e4kohtaiset arvot ja saavutusstrategiat. Saavutusstrategiat sis\u00e4lsiv\u00e4t onnistumisodotukset\nja teht\u00e4v\u00e4n v\u00e4lttelyn. Tutkimuksen lopullinen otoskoko koostui 510 opiskelijaurheilijasta seitsem\u00e4st\u00e4\neri urheilulukiosta Suomessa. Jokaisena lukiovuonna tutkittavat t\u00e4yttiv\u00e4t kyselyn urheilun ja koulun\nosalta koskien teht\u00e4v\u00e4kohtaisia arvoja ja saavutusstrategioita. Latentti profiilianalyysi suoritettiin\nerilaisten motivaatioprofiilien tunnistamiseksi. Motivaatiomuuttujien pysyvyytt\u00e4 ja muutosta sek\u00e4\neroja eri motivaatioprofiilien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 tutkittiin Waldin testill\u00e4. Lopuksi kouluun liittyvien\nmotivaatioprofiilien yhteytt\u00e4 urheiluun liittyvien motivaatioprofiilien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 tutkittiin latentilla\nsiirtym\u00e4analyysill\u00e4 (LTA; Lanza & Collins, 2008). Koulukontekstista l\u00f6ytyi viisi motivaatioprofiilia:\n(a) Matalat arvot koulussa; (b) Maladaptiiviset strategiat koulussa; (c) Keskinkertainen\nkoulumotivaatio; (d) Korkea koulumotivaatio; sek\u00e4 (e) Matala koulumotivaatio. My\u00f6s\nurheilukontekstista l\u00f6ytyi viisi profiilia: (a) Korkea urheilumotivaatio; (b) Keskinkertainen\nurheilumotivaatio; (c) Matalat arvot urheilussa; (d) Vakaa urheilumotivaatio; sek\u00e4 (e) Matala\nurheilumotivaatio. Opiskelija-urheilijat n\u00e4yttiv\u00e4t olevan enemm\u00e4n motivoituneita urheilussa kuin\nkoulussa, sill\u00e4 teht\u00e4v\u00e4kohtaiset arvot olivat korkeampia sek\u00e4 teht\u00e4v\u00e4n v\u00e4lttely matalampaa urheilussa\nkuin koulussa. Yleisesti motivaatiossa tapahtui vain pieni\u00e4 muutoksia ajan kuluessa, ja n\u00e4m\u00e4\nmuutokset liittyiv\u00e4t teht\u00e4v\u00e4kohtaisten arvojen laskuun ja teht\u00e4v\u00e4n v\u00e4lttelyn kasvamiseen sek\u00e4\nkoulussa ett\u00e4 urheilussa. Onnistumisodotukset pysyiv\u00e4t suhteellisen vakaina koko lukion ajan.\nLatentti siirtym\u00e4analyysi osoitti, ett\u00e4 opiskelijaurheilijat olivat hyvin motivoituneita urheiluun\nhuolimatta koulumotivaation tasosta, kun taas opiskelijaurheilijat, jotka edustivat tietty\u00e4\nmotivaatioprofiilia urheilussa, kuuluivat my\u00f6s todenn\u00e4k\u00f6isemmin samankaltaiseen profiiliin\nkoulussa. Task values and\nachievement strategies, including success expectations and task avoidance, were used as criteria\nvariables of motivation. A total of 510 student-athletes from seven sport high schools in Finland\nparticipated in the study by filling out a self-report questionnaire during each year of high school.\nThe questionnaire included items considering task values and achievement strategies in both school\nand sport contexts. A latent profile analysis was then performed to identify different motivational\nprofiles and the stability of and changes in motivational variables, as well as the differences between\nmotivational profiles, were examined with Wald\u00b4s test. Finally, the association of school-related and\nsport-related motivational profiles was examined by using a latent transition analysis (LTA; Lanza &\nCollins, 2008). To summarize the results, five motivational profiles were found in school: (a) Low\nvalue for school; (b) Maladaptive strategies for school; (c) Moderate school motivation; (d) High\nschool motivation; and (e) Low school motivation. Five profiles were also found in sport: (a) High\nsport motivation; (b) Moderate sport motivation; (c) Low values for sport; (d) Stable sport motivation;\nand (e) Low sport motivation. Student-athletes were typically more motivated in sport than in school,\nwhich was illustrated by higher task values and lower task avoidance in sport than in school. In\ngeneral, only small changes occurred in motivation over time, which was reflected in a decrease in\ntask values and an increase in task avoidance in both domains. Success expectations remained\nrelatively stable over time. The latent transition analysis revealed that student-athletes appeared to be\nin general highly motivated for sport regardless of the level of motivation for school. Furthermore,\nstudent-athletes representing a certain kind of motivational profile in sport were likely to show a\nsimilar one in school.
