T\u00e4ss\u00e4 molempien maiden ICT-k\u00e4yt\u00f6n k\u00e4\u00e4nnekohdassa on hyv\u00e4 tarkastella, miten ICT:n k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6notto on edennyt molempien maiden peruskouluissa. T\u00e4m\u00e4n pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli tutkia, 1) kuinka maiden opettajat kokevat ICT:n ja sen k\u00e4yt\u00f6n opetuksessa, 2) mink\u00e4laisia tukiprosesseja on valjastettu ICT:n k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n opetuksessa Suomessa ja Japanissa, 3) kuinka ICT:t\u00e4 k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n Suomen ja Japanin opetuksessa k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6ss\u00e4, ja 4) mink\u00e4laisia haasteita ICT:n k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 opetuksessa voi olla Suomessa ja Japanissa. T\u00e4m\u00e4 laadullinen vertaileva tutkimus kohdistuu Suomessa Keski-Suomen alueeseen ja Japanissa Kanazawan kaupunkiin Ishikawan prefektuurissa. Tulokset osoittivat monia yht\u00e4l\u00e4isyyksi\u00e4 osallistujien n\u00e4kemyksiss\u00e4 ja kokemuksissa, kuten ICT:n kokemisen ensisijaisesti ty\u00f6kaluna, ja k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6nl\u00e4heisen t\u00e4ydennyskoulutuksen arvostuksen. At this turning point in the use of ICT in both countries, it is important to take a look at how the adoption of ICT has proceeded in primary schools in both countries. The aim of this master's thesis was to find out 1) how the teachers of the two countries perceive ICT and its use in education, 2) what kind of supporting processes have been set up to support the use of ICT in education in Finland Japan, 3) how ICT is used in education in Finland and Japan in practice, and 4) what kind of challenges can there be in the use of ICT in education in Finland and Japan. This qualitative comparative research focused on the areas of Central Finland, Finland, and Kanazawa, in Ishikawa prefecture in Japan. The results highlighted many similarities between the views and experiences of the participants, such as the viewing of ICT primarily as a classroom tool, and the appreciation of practical supplementary training. Differences include the fact that in general Finnish primary school teachers found their ICT equipment to be sufficient, whereas Japanese participants did not.
