Tutkielma on tehty Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston Strategy, Accounting and Leadership as a Practice (SALP) -ryhm\u00e4n ohjauksessa. Tutkimuksessa tavoitteenani on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 palkitsemisen merkitys henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n motivaatiolle ja sitoutumiselle sek\u00e4 tarkastella mahdollisia eroavaisuuksia toimihenkil\u00f6iden ja esimiesten n\u00e4kemyksiss\u00e4.\n Tutkimuksen teoreettinen viitekehys muodostuu nelj\u00e4n motivaatioteorian sek\u00e4 sitoutumisen ymp\u00e4rille. Tutkimuksen aineisto koostuu 20 aiemmin tehdyst\u00e4 avoimesta haastattelusta, jotka on tehty Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston kauppakorkeakoulussa toimivan SALP -tutkimusryhm\u00e4n toimesta OP Ryhm\u00e4n ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6ille eri liiketoiminta-alueilta vuosina 2012-2016 sek\u00e4 2018-2019. Haastateltavat ty\u00f6skentelev\u00e4t sek\u00e4 esimies- ett\u00e4 asiantuntijateht\u00e4viss\u00e4. Haastateltavista 13 oli miehi\u00e4 ja 7 naisia. Tutkimusstrategiani on laadullinen ja empiirinen tutkimusaineisto on analysoitu kvalitatiivisin metodein tulkitsevalla otteella.\n Tutkimuksessa k\u00e4y ilmi, ett\u00e4 OP Ryhm\u00e4n ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta motivaatioon merkitt\u00e4vimmin vaikuttavat palkitsemisen keinot ovat raha, rahaan verrannolliset etuudet, ty\u00f6ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6 sek\u00e4 ty\u00f6yhteis\u00f6. N\u00e4in ollen ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4t mielt\u00e4v\u00e4t sek\u00e4 taloudelliset ett\u00e4 aineettomat palkitsemisen keinot merkityksellisiksi. Palkitseminen koetaan olevan alhaisemmalla tasolla suhteessa kilpailijoihin, pois lukien peruspalkka. OP Ryhm\u00e4n vahvuuksia palkitsemisen osalta ovat ryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 vallitseva yhteenkuuluvuuden tunne, ty\u00f6ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6 ja -yhteis\u00f6. Palkitsemisen keinoilla on yhteys my\u00f6s ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden sitoutumiseen. Jatkossa OP Ryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 voitaisiin lis\u00e4t\u00e4 aineettoman palkitsemisen m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4 ja kirkastaa nykyiset palkitsemisk\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6t ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6ille.
