Min\u00e4pystyvyysuskomusten kehittyess\u00e4 ihmisten on todettu auttavan ihmisi\u00e4 havaitsemaan oman toiminnan ja sen muokkaamisen suhde ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6\u00f6n ja sen muuttamiseen ja oman el\u00e4m\u00e4n hallintaan. Min\u00e4pystyvyytt\u00e4 pyrit\u00e4\u00e4n kasvattamaan arvioinnilla, itseohjautuvuuden ja itsearvioinnin ty\u00f6kaluilla, onnistumisen kokemuksilla, sek\u00e4 jaetuilla kokemuksilla onnistumisen arvioinnista.\nMin\u00e4pystyvyysuskomusten kehitt\u00e4minen valikoitui tavoitteeksi materiaalille koska min\u00e4pystyvyyden on todettu vaikuttavan ihmisten toimijuuteen ja k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisen mukautumiseen. Uskomusten on todettu muuttavan ihmisten toimintaa tavoitteellisemmaksi ja auttavan ihmisi\u00e4 ty\u00f6skentelem\u00e4\u00e4n sinnikk\u00e4\u00e4sti ja pitk\u00e4j\u00e4nteisesti suurten p\u00e4\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4rien saavuttamiseksi. Min\u00e4pystyvyysuskomukset my\u00f6s auttavat ihmisi\u00e4 kohtaamaan ep\u00e4onnistumisia ja arvioimaan oman ty\u00f6skentelyns\u00e4 vaikutuksia tehokkaammin. N\u00e4iden vaikutusten katsottiin hy\u00f6dytt\u00e4v\u00e4n oppilaita my\u00f6s englannin oppimisessa.\nToimijuus ja oman ty\u00f6skentelyn kehitt\u00e4minen ja arviointi oli my\u00f6s otettu uusimpaan opetussuunnitelmaan kasvatuksen tavoitteeksi, mik\u00e4 my\u00f6s osaltaan vaikutti materiaalin laatimisen tavoitteiden suuntaamiseen. Toimijuus mahdollistaa my\u00f6s oppilaiden oman toiminnan ohjaamisen kehittymisen, jolloin opettajan on mahdollista keskitty\u00e4 yksitt\u00e4isten oppilaiden ty\u00f6skentelyn ohjaamiseen suurissa ryhmiss\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4n vuoksi on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 valmistaa materiaaleja min\u00e4pystyvyysuskomusten kehitt\u00e4miseksi, mik\u00e4li pelot oppilasryhmien kasvamisesta toteutuvat. Paremmin itseohjautuvat oppilaat pystyv\u00e4t toimimaan itsen\u00e4isemmin, jolloin opettajan huomio ohjautuu sit\u00e4 tarvitseville.\nMateriaalin keskeisist\u00e4 teht\u00e4vist\u00e4 j\u00e4rjestettiin pilottihanke, jonka l\u00f6yd\u00f6kset olivat lupaavia. Oppilaat ty\u00f6skenteliv\u00e4t itsen\u00e4isesti ja innostuneesti.
