T\u00e4ss\u00e4 pro gradu - tutkielmassa tutkin englannin ja ruotsin opettajien kokemuksia ja k\u00e4sityksi\u00e4 samanaikaisopetuksesta erityisopettajan kanssa. Samanaikaisopetus on lis\u00e4\u00e4ntynyt kouluissa muun muassa siksi, ett\u00e4 sit\u00e4 k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n inkluusion haasteisiin vastaamisessa. T\u00e4h\u00e4n asti samanaikaisopetusta on tutkittu l\u00e4hinn\u00e4 erityisopettajien ja luokanopettajien n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta. Kieltenopettajien k\u00e4sitysten tutkimus on ollut selv\u00e4sti v\u00e4h\u00e4isemp\u00e4\u00e4. \nKoska kieltenopettajien yleisin samanaikaisopetuspari on erityisopettaja, tutkimuksen osallistujiksi valittiin kahdeksan englannin ja ruotsin opettajaa, joilla oli kokemusta samanaikaisopetuksesta erityisopettajan kanssa. Tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli kartoittaa osallistujien kokemuksia ja k\u00e4sityksi\u00e4 samanaikaisopetuksesta. Tutkimus suoritettiin haastattelujen avulla, joista viisi tehtiin kasvotusten ja kolme puhelinhaastatteluna. Aineisto analysoitiin p\u00e4\u00e4osin laadullisesti sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysi\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en. \nSek\u00e4 osallistuneiden opettajien koulujen ett\u00e4 opettajien itsens\u00e4 asenteet samanaikaisopetusta kohtaan olivat valtaosin positiivisia. Suurin ongelma samanaikaisopetuksen toteuttamisessa oli erityisopettajien v\u00e4h\u00e4isyys ja siit\u00e4 johtuva kiireisyys sek\u00e4 yhteisen suunnitteluajan puute. Yleisimmin k\u00e4ytetty samanaikaisopetusmetodi oli se, ett\u00e4 kieltenopettaja opetti luokan edess\u00e4 ja erityisopettaja kierteli auttamassa. T\u00e4h\u00e4n toimintatapaan p\u00e4\u00e4dyttiin siksi, ett\u00e4 se oli helpointa kieltenopettajan jouduttua suunnittelemaan tunnit yksin. Opettajien auktoriteetti luokassa n\u00e4htiin kuitenkin tasa-arvoisena. Kieltenopettajien kokemukset samanaikaisopetussuhteesta erityisopettajien kanssa olivat p\u00e4\u00e4osin positiivisia ja he kokivat samanaikaisopetuksen sopivan hyvin kieltenopetukseen. He kokivat samanaikaisopetuksen tarjoavan ylim\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ist\u00e4 tukea sek\u00e4 opettajille ett\u00e4 oppilaille. Kieltenopettajat toivoivat erityisopettajilta kuitenkin viel\u00e4kin aktiivisempaa roolia luokkahuoneessa ja oppituntien suunnittelussa. Osallistujat eiv\u00e4t olleet saaneet juuri ollenkaan koulutusta samanaikaisopetukseen. \nOsallistujien positiiviset kokemukset voisivat innostaa yh\u00e4 useampia kieltenopettajia kokeilemaan samanaikaisopetusta. Tulosten perusteella samanaikaisopetukseen tulisi kiinnitt\u00e4\u00e4 huomiota opettajankoulutuksessa ja siihen tulisi luoda paremmat olosuhteet kouluissa, joissa sit\u00e4 k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n. Jatkotutkimusta aiheesta voitaisiin tehd\u00e4 esimerkiksi vaihtamalla tutkimusmetodiksi kyselylomake tai suurentamalla haastateltavien m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4\u00e4.
