Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimuksessa tarkasteltiin ruoka-avunsaajien koettuja avuntarpeita.\nTutkimuksen aineistona oli ruoka-apukysely (n=157), joka ker\u00e4ttiin Suomen Punaisen Ristin Kemin ja Rovaniemen ruoka-avussa k\u00e4yvilt\u00e4 ruoka-avunsaajilta kes\u00e4ll\u00e4 2018. Kyselyn koettua hyvinvointia mittaavat kysymykset pohjautuivat Maailman terveysj\u00e4rjest\u00f6n lyhyeen el\u00e4m\u00e4nlaadun mittariin (WHOQOL-BREF) sek\u00e4 sen soveltamiseen aiemmassa suomalaisessa tutkimuksessa. Koettua hyvinvointia tarkasteltiin t\u00e4ss\u00e4 ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 koetun terveyden, koetun psykososiaalisen hyvinvoinnin, koetun taloudellisen hyvinvoinnin sek\u00e4 koetun el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n tyytyv\u00e4isyyden kautta. Kyselyaineistoa tarkasteltiin suorien jakaumien kautta ja sit\u00e4 analysointiin\nIBM SPSS Statistics 24 -ohjelmistossa riippumattomien otosten t-testill\u00e4, yksisuuntaisella varianssianalyysill\u00e4, ristiintaulukoinnilla ja Khiin neli\u00f6testill\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi muutamia kyselyn avoimia vastauksia teemoiteltiin, jotta ruoka-avunsaajien omaa \u00e4\u00e4nt\u00e4 saataisiin kuuluviin.\nKyselyyn vastanneista ruoka-apuun turvautuvista ihmisist\u00e4 yli puolet oli naisia ja yli puolet ty\u00f6ik\u00e4isi\u00e4, i\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4n 36\u201365 -vuotta. Vastaajien ty\u00f6llisyystilanne painottui ty\u00f6tt\u00f6miin ja opiskelijoihin tai el\u00e4kkeell\u00e4 oleviin. Tulokset osoittivat ett\u00e4 yli puolet kyselyyn vastanneista ruokaavunsaajista koki olevansa t\u00e4ysin tai osittain tyytyv\u00e4isi\u00e4 el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4ns\u00e4. El\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n tyytym\u00e4tt\u00f6myyden taustalla kerrottiin olevan taloudellisia ja terveyteen liittyvi\u00e4 ongelmia. Koetun hyvinvoinnin\neri osa-alueista koettu taloudellinen hyvinvointi koettiin matalammaksi kuin koettu terveys ja koettu psykososiaalinen hyvinvointi. Ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 k\u00e4yv\u00e4t ruoka-apuun turvautuvat henkil\u00f6t\nkokivat hyvinvointinsa paremmaksi kuin ty\u00f6tt\u00f6m\u00e4t ruoka-avunsaajat. Ruoka-apuun turvautuvien miesten kokema hyvinvointi oli matalampaa kuin naisten. Ruoka-avunsaajien kokemissa\navuntarpeissa korostuivat terveyteen liittyv\u00e4n avun, kuten henkisen tuen ja keskusteluavun tarpeet sek\u00e4 taloudellinen apu ja apu arjen askareisiin.\nTutkimustulosten perusteella ruoka-avunsaajien taloudellista hyvinvointia tulee tukea, koska ruoka-apuun turvautumisen taustalla on usein taloudellisesti tiukkoja el\u00e4m\u00e4ntilanteita. Erityisesti\nty\u00f6tt\u00f6mien ruoka-avunsaajien sek\u00e4 ruoka-apuun turvautuvien miesten koettua hyvinvointia tulisi tukea. Ruoka-avunsaajien moninaiset avuntarpeet tulisi huomioida ja apua kohdentaa\nniihin asioihin, joihin sit\u00e4 tarvitaan. Ruoka-avunsaajien koettuja avuntarpeita ja yksil\u00f6llisi\u00e4 syit\u00e4 ruoka-apuun turvautumisen taustalla olisi hyv\u00e4 tutkia tarkemmin. Tutkimusmuotona t\u00e4h\u00e4n voisi soveltua toimintatutkimus.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The purpose of this Master\u2019s thesis was to investigate the subjective well-being of the Finnish Red Cross food aid recipients as well as if employment status, level of education, gender, age, household situation or time that these people had resorted to food aid are related to the subjective well-being. The study wanted to shed light also on the experienced needs for help of the food aid recipients. The data in this study was a questionnaire (n=157) collected in the food distribution spots of the Finnish Red Cross in Kemi and Rovaniemi during summer 2018. In this study the subjective well-being consisted of subjective health, psycho-social well-being,\nfinancial well-being and life satisfaction and it was measured by applying the short version of the World Health Organisation Quality of Life (WHOQOL) -BREF -indicator. The data was analysed with IBM SPSS Statistics 24 software and analyses consisted of one-way analysis of variance, independent samples t-test, cross-tabulation and chi-square test. Additionally the answers of the open-ended questions were thematised in order to give voice to the food aid\nrecipients.\nOver half of the study population were women and over half were people of working age, from 36 to 65 years old. Most of the study population were unemployed or students or retired persons. The results of this study suggest that over half of the food aid recipients in this study were satisfied with their lives. Financial problems as well as health related problems were mentioned when asking the food aid recipients why they weren\u2019t satisfied with their lives.\nThe financial well-being of the food aid recipients was experienced lower than the subjective health and psychosocial well-being. Those food aid recipients in this study who had a job had a better subjective well-being than those who were unemployed. The subjective well-being of women in this study was better than men\u2019s. The food aid recipients reported that they had also other needs for help like financial aid, help with health problems, mental support and having someone, preferably a professional to talk to.\nAccording to this study, the financial well-being of the food aid recipients needs to be supported since many food aid recipients rely on food aid mainly because of financial problems. Especially the subjective well-being of men and unemployed food aid recipients needs to be promoted. The food aid recipients had various needs for help, which indicates the importance of allocating help also on other matters than just on the need for food. These needs for help\nand varying reasons for relying on food aid should be taken a closer look at in future studies.
