description Tässä tutkimuksessa keskityttiin erityisopettajien onnistumisen kokemuksiin vieraan kielen opetuksesta. Aineistonkeruu toteutettiin sähköisen kyselylomakkeen avulla, joka lähetettiin Facebookin kolmeen tarkasti valitun keskusteluryhmän keskustelupalstalle. Tulokset pohjautuvat aineiston sisällönanalyysiin. Aineistosta luokiteltiin ilmiöitä yhteisiksi luokiksi, jotka teemoiteltiin sen mukaan, kuvaako luokka vieraan kielen opetuksessa huomioitavia ilmiöitä, sisällön soveltamiskeinoja tai tieto- ja viestintäteknologian hyödyntämiskeinoja. Lopuksi teemat tyypiteltiin tutkimuskysymysten mukaisesti laajemmiksi käsitteiksi. Tämän tutkimuksen mukaan erityisopettajat kokevat onnistumisen kokemuksia, kun oppijat osallistuvat vieraan kielen opiskeluun. Lisäksi erityisopettajat kokevat onnistuneensa, kun pystyvät tarjoamaan oppimisen tukea sitä tarvitseville oppijoille. Erityisopettajat hyödyntävät pedagogista sisältötietoaan valitessaan oppimista tukevia tehtäviä ja toimintaa sekä keskittyessään opetuksessa oppimisen kannalta tärkeimpiin ydinaiheisiin. Tieto- ja viestintäteknologia (TVT) mahdollistaa vieraan kielen opetuksen rikastamisen tarjoamalla vaihtoehtoista toimintaa sekä materiaalia. TVT tarjoaa mahdollisuuden innostaa oppijoita opiskelemaan vierasta kieltä. Oppijan innostuksen puute vaikuttaa erityisopettajien mukaan vieraan kielen oppimiseen sekä tuntityöskentelyyn. Pelien rooli oppijan innostamisessa nähdään tämän tutkimuksen perusteella tärkeänä, koska pelien avulla vieraan kielen aiheita voidaan käsitellä innostavalla tavalla. Myös välitön palautteenantaminen ja oppijan itsearvioinnin mahdollisuus nähtiin pelien tärkeänä ominaisuutena. Lisäksi pelien avulla voidaan keventää vieraan kielen oppitunnin toimintaa tarvittaessa. This research focuses on special educators’ experiences of successful foreign language teaching. There have been found out from the experiences, what kind of subjects special educators observe when they are planning for their foreign language teaching and how the observations affect to the way of apply content of foreign language or the way of use ICT. This research focus on what kind of ICT and how special educators use it during teaching foreign language. The data has been gathered using a web based questionary, which has been sent to three different and carefully selected Facebook groups. The results have been created by using content analysis. There has been made groups and themes from the data, if the different groups describe notable subjects, the ways of apply contents of foreign language or the ways of use ICT in teaching foreign language. Themes have been typed according to research questions. The special educators will get experiences of success when all learners in the group participate in the foreign language learning and when special educators are able to offer help to the learners who need help. Special educators use their pedagogical content knowledge to choose the best kind of exercises and focus to the most important subjects to support learning. Information and connections technology (ICT) gives opportunities and materials to enrich foreign language teaching. The lack of enthusiasm to learn foreign language influences the learning and working during the lessons. ICT offers opportunities to inspire learners to learn foreign language. The results show that learning games have an important role to inspire foreign language learners, because the subjects can be taught in the in inspirational way. The learning games gives an instant feedback to learners and opportunity to learners to self-assessment, which are important features of learning games. Special educators can also make foreign language lesson more lighten with the learning games.
