Ilmastonmuutoksen ja ihmistoimien \r\nosuuden kasvun maank\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 on katsottu olevan osasyit\u00e4 muutokselle. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 \r\ngradussa tutkittiin HPSEC-UV-fluoresenssi (korkean suorituskyvyn \r\nkokoekskluusio kromatografia, johon on yhdistetty UV- ja fluoresenssi ilmaisimet) \r\nmetodin soveltuvuutta kuvaamaan orgaanisen aineen ominaisuuksia valuma-\r\nalueilla. Vesin\u00e4ytteit\u00e4 analysoitiin kahdelta eri valuma-alueelta Etel\u00e4-Suomesta. \r\nLis\u00e4ksi valuma-alueiden maank\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 tutkittiin Corine Land Cover (CLC) aineiston \r\navulla vuosilta 2006-2018. Maank\u00e4yt\u00f6n analyysit osoittivat Tuuruj\u00e4rven ja \r\nJoutsij\u00e4rven valuma-alueen sis\u00e4lt\u00e4v\u00e4n valtaosin mets\u00e4\u00e4 Gennarbyvikenin (GBV) \r\nvaluma-alueen ollessa enemm\u00e4n maatalous- ja asutusvaltainen. Eroja l\u00f6ydettiin \r\nmy\u00f6s valuma-alueiden orgaanisen aineen ominaisuuksista. Tuuru- ja Joutsij\u00e4rven \r\nvaluma-alueella pintavesien liuenneen orgaanisen aineen (DOC) pitoisuudet olivat \r\n1,3-3,8 kertaa suurempia kuin GBV:n valuma-alueella. GBV:n valuma-alueen \r\npintavedet sis\u00e4lsiv\u00e4t 1,2 kertaa enemm\u00e4n proteiinin kaltaista fluoresoivaa \r\norgaanista ainetta kuin Tuuru- ja Joutsij\u00e4rven pintavedet. Tuuru- ja Joutsij\u00e4rven \r\nvaluma-alueella pintavesien orgaaninen aines oli puolestaan 1,4 kertaa enemm\u00e4n \r\nhumuksen kaltaista GBV:n pintavesiin verrattuna. Pintavesien kromatogrammeista \r\nerotettiin 5-7 jaetta. HPSEC-UV-fluoresenssi soveltui hyvin m\u00e4\u00e4ritt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n \r\norgaanisen aineen ominaisuuksia. Lis\u00e4tutkimusta tarvitaan, jotta jatkossa saadaan \r\ntilastollisesti merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 tietoa menetelm\u00e4n soveltuvuudesta sek\u00e4 maank\u00e4yt\u00f6n \r\nvaikutuksesta valuma-alueen orgaanisen aineen ominaisuuksiin.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "In recent years, the amount of natural organic matter (NOM) in Northern lakes has \r\nincreased and the quality has change. Climate change and anthropogenic activities \r\nare one of the major drivers of these alterations. This study was done to assess the \r\napplicability of the HPSEC-UV-fluorescence (High Performance Size Exclusion \r\nChromatography with UV and fluorescence detection) method to illustrate the \r\nvariable nature of NOM among catchments. Water samples from two different \r\ncatchments in Southern Finland were analyzed. The land use of the catchments was \r\ninvestigated by using Corine land cover (CLC) data from the years 2006-2018. In \r\nTuuruj\u00e4rvi and Joutsij\u00e4rvi catchment, the share of forests was higher than in \r\nGennarbyviken (GBV) catchment, which was more influenced by arable land and \r\nurban fabric. Differences in the characteristics of NOM were also found. In \r\nTuuruj\u00e4rvi and Joutsij\u00e4rvi catchment, DOC concentrations (dissolved organic \r\ncarbon) in surface waters were 1.3-3.8 times higher than in GBV catchment. DOC \r\nfrom the surface waters of GBV showed 1.2 times more specific protein-like \r\nfluorescence whereas DOC from the surface waters of Tuuruj\u00e4rvi and Joutsij\u00e4rvi \r\ncatchment showed 1.4 times more specific humic/fulvic-like fluorescence. From 5 \r\nto 7 different fractions were separated from the chromatograms. The HPSEC \r\nmethod proved to be an advanced tool for analyzing the characteristics of NOM.
