Tutkielman menetelmänä on kehittämistutkimus. Aihetta lähestytään käytännönläheisesti ja siten, että tulokset ja kehittämistutkimuksessa luotu malli antaisivat apua opasvideota tekevälle opettajalle. Tutkimuksessa havaittiin, että ruudulla tapahtuva toiminta ja puheselostus kannattaa tallentaa erikseen. Videon sisällön suunnittelussa voidaan soveltaa eri periaatteita, kuten tekstimuotoisen sisällön kertaamista, työskentelyprosessin demonstrointia ja toiminnan opastamista. Screencast-O-Matic -ohjelmisto on havaintojen mukaan sopiva ohjelmisto ruutukaappausten tekemiseen. Äänen tallentamiseen tarvitaan laadukas USB-mikrofoni tai muu laadukas äänentallennuslaitteisto. Ruutukaappausta varten tarvitaan tietokone, jonka näytön tarkkuus on sama tai enemmän kuin lopullisen videon tarkkuus. The purpose of this thesis was to develop a model for the implementation of the tutorial video. The model provides recommendations for content design, practical work and hardware and software selection. The study explains how to make tutorial video and what tools to use. The thesis describes a design research that sought to approach the topic in a pragmatic way. The goal was that the results and the model created in the design research would help the teacher to make a video. The study found that the best practice is to record the on-screen activity and speech separately. Different principles can be applied in the design of video content, such as reviewing textual content, demonstrating the working process and guidance through the process. Screencast-O-Matic software has been found to be suitable for screen capture. Sound recording requires a high-quality USB microphone or other high-quality audio recording equipment. A computer with a screen resolution equal to or greater than the resolution of the final video is required for the screen capture.
