T\u00e4m\u00e4n pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 teko\u00e4lyn hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4mist\u00e4 henkil\u00f6st\u00f6- ja palkanlaskentaj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4ss\u00e4. Teko\u00e4lyn hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4mist\u00e4 tarkasteltiin informaatioteknologian (IT) omaksumisen n\u00e4k\u00f6kulmasta organisaatiotasolla. Kvalitatiivisen tutkimuksen aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin haastattelemalla henkil\u00f6st\u00f6- ja palkanlaskentaj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n kehitykseen ja yll\u00e4pitoon osallistuvia IT-alan ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6it\u00e4. Tulokset vahvistivat aiempia k\u00e4sityksi\u00e4, joiden mukaan teko\u00e4lystrategian ja osaamisen puute hidastavat teko\u00e4lyn teknologioiden omaksumista organisaatioissa. Uusien teknologioiden k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6notto on v\u00e4ltt\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00f6myys j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4kehityksess\u00e4, mutta tulosten mukaan teko\u00e4lyn teknologioiden omaksuminen ei ollut samalla tavalla mahdollista kuin perinteisten j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4kehitysmenetelmien. Tuloksista voidaan p\u00e4\u00e4tell\u00e4, ett\u00e4 teko\u00e4lyn teknologioiden omaksumista voidaan edist\u00e4\u00e4 riitt\u00e4vill\u00e4 resursseilla ja nostamalla organisaation osaamistasoa koulutuksella, rekrytoinnilla tai alihankinnalla. The purpose of the Master\u00b4s Thesis was to study utilising AI in a HR and payroll system. Utilising AI is reviewed in the perspective of information technology (IT) adoption at the organisational level. The empirical data of the qualitative study was collected by interviewing IT-specialists of the HR and payroll system\u2019s development and maintenance teams. The results confirmed suggestions of the previous studies that a lack of AI strategy and competencies needed are recognized as barriers for adopting AI technologies. There is a constant need to adopt new technologies in the IT development, but as results indicated, adoption of AI was not possible in the same way as traditional development methods. AI adoption can be improved with the reasonable resources and with focusing on elevating the competence level in the organisation with training, recruiting or subcontracting. There is already a lot of automation used in HR and payroll systems. However, research indicated that AI technologies can offer new possibilities for system development.
