Tulvaiset ranta-alueet ja erityisesti tulvamets\u00e4t ovat kuitenkin Suomessa melko heikosti tunnettuja, mink\u00e4 lis\u00e4ksi tulvamets\u00e4t ovat k\u00e4yneet yh\u00e4 uhanalaisemmiksi mm. vesist\u00f6jen s\u00e4\u00e4nn\u00f6stelyn ja ihmisen maank\u00e4yt\u00f6n seurauksena. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 Pro Gradu -ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 selvitettiin tulvametsien esiintymist\u00e4 ja lajistoa Uudellamaalla. Ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 tutkittiin, voiko paikkatietoa hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 tulvamets\u00e4kohteiden paikallistamisessa, ja miten tulvametsien putkilokasvilajisto- ja puustoyhteis\u00f6 mahdollisesti eroavat muista tutkituista alueista. Lis\u00e4ksi ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 pyrittiin muodostamaan tyypillisen uusimaalaisen tulvamets\u00e4n kasvilajikuvaus. Aluksi ArcMap-ohjelmalla muodostettiin potentiaalisten tulvamets\u00e4kohteiden aluerajaus k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 viranomaisten avoimia aineistoja. Vertaamalla aluerajausta ilmakuviin valittiin 10 potentiaalista tulvamets\u00e4kohdetta, joiden putkilo-kasvilajisto ja puusto k\u00e4ytiin inventoimassa maastossa k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en hyv\u00e4ksi 50 m mittaisia kasvilinjoja. Inventoidusta 10 maastokohteesta 6:ssa oli v\u00e4hint\u00e4\u00e4n yksi tulvamets\u00e4\u00e4n osunut linja. Linjat jaettiin 4 tyyppiin (tulvamets\u00e4 saari, tulvamets\u00e4 mantere, virheellisesti ennustettu tulvamets\u00e4 ja kontrolli), jolloin havaittiin, ett\u00e4 jokaisen tyypin putkilokasviyhteis\u00f6 erosi kaikista muista tyypeist\u00e4. Tulvamets\u00e4n putkilokasvilajisto sis\u00e4lsi Uudellamaalla tyypillisi\u00e4 lehtolajeja, eik\u00e4 ns. indikaattorilajeja l\u00f6ytynyt. T\u00e4m\u00e4 ty\u00f6 antoi lis\u00e4tietoa hyvin heikosti tunnetun etel\u00e4suomalaisesta tulvamets\u00e4luontotyypin esiintymisest\u00e4 ja lajistosta, ja tietoa voidaan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 mm. tulevissa luontotyyppien uhanalaisuusarvioissa.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "Riparian zones are exceptionally diverse ecosystems. However, riparian areas and especially alluvial forests (AF) are poorly known in Finland and they have become increasingly rare. In this thesis the locations and species composition of AF were examined in Uusimaa region of southern Finland. I examined if the locations of AF habitat could be predicted with geographical information system (GIS) data and if the vascular plant and tree species compositions of AF differ from the other inventoried areas. In addition I was interested in the typical plant species composition of AF in Uusimaa. A masking was formed in ArcGIS program using open GIS-data that defines the potential areas for existence of AF. 10 potential AF sites were chosen by comparing the masking to aerial photographs. The vascular plant and tree species compositions of these sites were inventoried using 50 m long transects. These 10 inventoried sites included 6 sites which had at least one transect actually representing AF habitat. Transects were divided to 4 different types: island AF, mainland AF, mispredicted AF and control. The vascular plant species composition was different in every transect type when compared to other transect types. The AF vascular plant species composition in Uusimaa included deciduous forest species typical for the region and no indicator species were found.
