Yhteiskunnan nopeatahtiset muutokset kuten globalisaatio ja \ndigitalisaatio muuttavat opettajuutta haastamalla ja kannustamalla opettajia laajentamaan \nosaamistaan sek\u00e4 monipuolistamaan tiedeperustaansa. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tavoitteena oli \nkartoittaa ja kuvata fysioterapiaopettajien ja -opettajaopiskelijoiden k\u00e4sityksi\u00e4 \nfysioterapiaopettajuuden muutoksesta. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli tunnistaa \nsellaisia kriittisi\u00e4 tekij\u00f6it\u00e4, jotka mahdollistavat opettajuuden muutoksen ymm\u00e4rryksen \nlaajenemisen. \n\n \n\nTutkimus toteutettiin osana sosiaali-, terveys-, ja kuntoutusalan opettajien \nt\u00e4ydennyskoulutusta ja terveystieteiden opettajakoulutusta kehitt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 valtakunnallista Osaavat \nopettajat yhdess\u00e4! \u2013tutkimushanketta. Aineisto koostui viidest\u00e4 ryhm\u00e4haastattelusta, joihin \nosallistui yhteens\u00e4 17 fysioterapian yliopisto- ja ammattikorkeakouluopettajaa sek\u00e4 \nterveystieteiden maisteriopiskelijaa. Aineiston analyysi tehtiin hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4en fenomenografista \ntutkimusotetta. \n\n \n\nTutkimuksen tuloksena syntyi nelj\u00e4 opettajuuden muutosta suppeasta laajempaan \nymm\u00e4rrykseen kuvaavaa hierarkkista kategoriaa: erilaiset opiskelijat opettajuuden \nmuutosvoimana, fysioterapia-alan kehitys opettajuuden muutosvoimana, yhteiskunnan murros \nopettajuuden muutosvoimana ja globaalit trendit opettajuuden muutosvoimana. Hierarkkiset \nkategoriat muodostettiin aineistosta nousseiden nelj\u00e4n teeman ja niiden variaatioiden avulla. \nYmm\u00e4rryksen laajentumisen mahdollistaviksi kriittisiksi tekij\u00f6iksi muodostuivat \nammatillisten k\u00e4yt\u00e4nt\u00f6jen kehitt\u00e4minen, opetusk\u00e4sitysten syventyminen, yhteisty\u00f6n kulttuurin \nomaksuminen sek\u00e4 tulevaisuushakuisuus. \n\n \n\nTutkimusten tuloksia voidaan hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 fysioterapiatieteen, kuntoutusalan ja my\u00f6s \nlaajemmin terveystieteiden korkeakouluopettajien urapolkujen sek\u00e4 ammatillista kasvua \ntukevan perus- ja t\u00e4ydennyskoulutusj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n kehitt\u00e4misess\u00e4. The \nchanges in society such as globalization and digitalization challenge and expand teachers\u2019 \nwork e.g. required competence and scientific background of their work. This study aims to \ndescribe physiotherapy teachers\u2019 and physiotherapy teacher students\u2019 conceptions of change \nin the teaching profession. Furthermore this study aims to reveal critical aspects that help \nteachers in expanding their awareness. \n\n \n\nThis study was conducted as a part of Finnish national Competent Teachers Together! -\nresearch project which aims to develop continuous education model for health science and \nsocial service teachers. In this study the data was collected through five group interviews. \nRespondents (n=17) were physiotherapy science teachers from university, physiotherapy \nteachers from university of applied sciences and physiotherapy teacher students from health \nsciences. Physiotherapy teachers\u2019 conceptions were examined with qualitative analysis \ninvolving application of principles of phenomenographic research. \n\n \n\nAs a result of this study four hierarchically structured categories of description as a driving \nforce for change were found: student diversity, developing physiotherapy field, transforming \nsociety and global trends. The hierarchy was revealed through themes that grouped together \ncritical differences between the categories of description. The first category represents the \nnarrowest and the latest category the widest conception of change in the teaching profession. \nThe analysis produced critical aspects that enable teachers to expand their awareness from \nlower to higher category: developing professional practices, widening perspectives about \nteaching, adopting collaborative approach to working and having a forward-looking \norientation as a teacher. \n\n \n\nThe results of this research can be used for supporting physiotherapy science teachers, \nrehabilitation science teachers and even more broadly health science teacher\u2019s professional \ndevelopment and for developing a model for teachers\u2019 continuous education.
