K\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6noton ensimm\u00e4isess\u00e4 vaiheessa suoritettiin laitteelle aiemmin suunnitellut suorituskykytestit, ja toisessa vaiheessa kehitettiin mittausmenetelm\u00e4t 27 alkuaineelle. Kirjallisessa osassa k\u00e4siteltiin ICP-MS:n (Inductively Coupled Plasma-Mass Spectrometry, induktiivisesti kytketty plasma-massaspektrometri) teoriaa yks\u00f6is- ja kolmoiskvadrupoliteknologioissa, mittauksissa esiintyvi\u00e4 h\u00e4iri\u00f6it\u00e4 ja niiden poistoa, analyyttisen kemian mittausep\u00e4varmuutta sek\u00e4 teollisuuden sovelluksia ja haasteita.\n\nSuorituskykytesteiss\u00e4 arvioitiin uuden laitteen stabiilisuutta, mittaustulosten oikeellisuutta, spektraalisten h\u00e4iri\u00f6iden poistoa, kontaminaatiota, mittausherkkyytt\u00e4 ja resoluutiota. Testeille m\u00e4\u00e4ritellyt l\u00e4p\u00e4isykriteerit oli t\u00e4ytett\u00e4v\u00e4, jotta laite voitaisiin ottaa teollisuuslaboratorion rutiinik\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n. Toisessa vaiheessa suoritettu mittausmenetelmien kehitys tehtiin voimakkaan nikkelimatriisin sis\u00e4lt\u00e4ville tuotantoprosessin\u00e4ytteille. Menetelm\u00e4nkehityksen p\u00e4\u00e4tarkoitus oli luoda mittausmenetelm\u00e4t alkuaineille, joiden on todettu aiheuttavan haasteita nikkelintuotannossa. Kiinnostuksen kohteena oli etenkin seleeni, jonka mitattavuus ei ole aiemmin ollut halutulla tasolla. My\u00f6s muille ep\u00e4puhtauksille luotiin mittausmenetelm\u00e4t. Suorituskykytesteiss\u00e4 ja menetelm\u00e4nkehityksess\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin referenssimateriaaleja IARM-189A, IARM-190A ja IARM-191A sek\u00e4 teollisuuden tuotantoprosessiliuoksia.\n\nL\u00e4hes kaikki suorituskykytestit t\u00e4yttiv\u00e4t asetetut kriteerit. Spektraalisten h\u00e4iri\u00f6iden poistoa, kontaminaatiota, resoluutiota ja mittausherkkyytt\u00e4 k\u00e4sittelev\u00e4t suorituskykytestit t\u00e4yttiv\u00e4t kaikki kriteerit. Kuukauden kest\u00e4nyt stabiilisuustesti sek\u00e4 mittausten oikeellisuutta k\u00e4sittelev\u00e4t testit eiv\u00e4t t\u00e4ytt\u00e4neet kaikkia kriteerej\u00e4. N\u00e4ihin testeihin ei ollut asetettu oikeita mittausparametreja mittausten alussa, mutta oikeat parametrit l\u00f6ydettiin menetelm\u00e4nkehityksen aikana.\n\nMenetelm\u00e4nkehitysvaiheessa luotiin mittausmenetelm\u00e4t onnistuneesti l\u00e4hes kaikille 27 alkuaineelle. Mittausmenetelmien kriteerein\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin toistettavuutta ja tulosten oikeellisuutta. Menetelm\u00e4nkehityksess\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynnettiin referenssimateriaalimittauksia, standardinlis\u00e4ystestej\u00e4 ja matriisinsovitustestej\u00e4. Lopullisia mittausmenetelmi\u00e4 testattiin kuukauden kest\u00e4neell\u00e4 prosessin\u00e4ytteiden seurantajaksolla ja referenssimateriaalimittausten avulla. N\u00e4iden perusteella p\u00e4\u00e4tettiin analyytit, joiden mittausmenetelmi\u00e4 tullaan tulevaisuudessa viel\u00e4 kehitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n tai tarkkailemaan.
