description Sovellan tässä tutkielmassa Luciano Floridin informaation filosofiaa rakentavan journalismin projektin taustalla tunnistamieni implisiittisten normien oikeuttamiseen. Floridin konstruktionismi teoreettisena viitekehyksenä sitoo molemmat teesit yhteen. Journalismin informaation relevanttiuden määrää yleisö, siksi ihmiskäsitys on tärkeä relevanttiuden määrittelyssä. Perustelun suorittaminen kysymys–vastaus -verkoston avulla sisältää analogian journalismin ”tarinan kerrontaan”. Tutkielmassa journalismi istutetaan infosfäärin ontologiselle tasolle integroidun RPT-mallin avulla. In this master’s thesis I will apply Luciano Floridi’s philosophy of information in order to justify implicit norms of the constructive journalism project as I have interpreted them. I will introduce these norms as two theses, and I will introduce an analogy between these two theses and the philosophical framework of Floridi. The first thesis is epistemological. It requires journalism to produce relevant news content for active human agents. The second thesis is normative. It concerns the expansion of both responsibility and mission of journalism in society as demanded – I argue – by the laws of the infosphere. Constructionism as Floridi’s philosophical framework will tie these two theses together. A similar analogy could possibly be done with reference to another philosopher. I have applied Floridi because his philosophy is journalism-friendly. Floridi states that semantic information is well-formed, meaningful and thruthful data that can be updated to knowledge when being relevant and properly accounted for. In journalism it is the audience that defines the relevance of given information. This is why when defining relevancy, one needs to define also the idea of man. Accounting information via the question-answer-network includes a direct analogy to journalism as ”story-telling”. Both Floridi and the constructive journalism project argue that the way one sets questions has great importance to the chosen topic. In Floridi’s ethics information has – besides semantic level – also an ontological level. I will argue that an integrated RPT-model reveals journalism’s place on the ontological level. This will explain why journalism has responsibility over the well-being of it’s surroundings in the infosphere. Currently, the constructive journalism project has been defined in the academic world only by methods of positive psychology. Yet, philosophical justification of this project’s epistemic and normative requirements has not been done. I argue this can be done within Floridi’s philosophical framework. Keywords: constructive journalism, constructionism, Luciano Floridi, the philosophy of information, infosphere, proactive ethics, demiurge.
