Sis\u00e4inen viestint\u00e4 itsess\u00e4\u00e4n on kuitenkin suurten haasteiden edess\u00e4 informaation m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n kasvaessa ja eri viestint\u00e4kanavien kehittyess\u00e4. Ty\u00f6nkuva ja ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden tarpeet m\u00e4\u00e4ritt\u00e4v\u00e4t uudet vaatimukset sis\u00e4iselle viestinn\u00e4lle, kun organisaatiot ovat jatkuvan muutoksen alla ja ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4t vaativat yksil\u00f6llisemp\u00e4\u00e4 huomiointia. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa perehdyt\u00e4\u00e4n yrityksen sis\u00e4isenviestinn\u00e4n toimintaan ja tehostamiseen johdon ty\u00f6kaluna kirjallisuuskatsauksen avulla. Tavoitteena hakea vastausta kahteen kysymykseen. (1) Ensimm\u00e4isen\u00e4 tavoitteena on selvent\u00e4\u00e4 lukijalle, mik\u00e4 on sis\u00e4isen viestinn\u00e4n strateginen merkitys organisaation toiminnalle? (2) Toinen tutkimuskysymys on vertailla, miten sosiaalisen median palvelut parantavat tai haastavat sis\u00e4isen viestinn\u00e4n toimivuutta organisaatiossa? Tuloksissa n\u00e4htiin sis\u00e4isen viestinn\u00e4n olevan muuttumassa kohti symmetrist\u00e4 kahdensuuntaista sis\u00e4ist\u00e4 viestint\u00e4\u00e4, aiemmasta enemm\u00e4n yhdensuuntaisesta ja ep\u00e4symmetrisest\u00e4 viestinn\u00e4st\u00e4. Ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden arvostuksen on n\u00e4hty kasvaneen t\u00e4m\u00e4n seurauksena ja sis\u00e4isen viestinn\u00e4n strateginen merkitys on noussut organisaatioissa. Suurimpina haasteina on n\u00e4hty suuri tiedonm\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4, sen tehokas kohdistaminen ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden tarpeiden mukaan ja sopivien viestint\u00e4kanavien l\u00f6yt\u00e4minen. Organisaation sosiaalinen media on noussut teknologisen kehityksen my\u00f6t\u00e4 ratkaisuksi n\u00e4ihin ongelmiin, kuitenkin sen k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6nottaminen tuottaa viel\u00e4 haasteita. Multiple studies have shown how internal communication has a direct impact on employee engagement, performance and feeling of belonging. At the same time internal communication itself is under drastic changes due to massive increase of information and development of communication channels. Digital transformation has changed methods and requirements of work and employee\u2019s needs. These set new guidelines for internal communication as organisations are under constant change and employees require more individual service. This study focuses on the development and evaluation of internal communication as a management tool through a scientific literature study. The goal of this study is to answer to two research questions: (1) What is the strategic meaning of internal communication to and organisation and (2) how does the utilization of enterprise social media improve or challenge internal communication? The results indicate that internal communication is moving towards more symmetrical two-way communication from previous one-way asymmetrical communication. Employees are seen more valuable assets in organisational performance and growth leading towards higher focus on effective internal communication. The biggest challenges identified where how to handle with the increased amount of information, how to target the right information to the right employees and how to choose the right communication channels. Enterprise social media has been seen as the answer to these problems.
