T\u00e4m\u00e4n ty\u00f6n on tarkoitus osoittaa, ett\u00e4 VTT:n k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4poistoj\u00e4tteiden loppusijoitus Loviisaan ei aiheuta merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 kasvua Loviisan voimalaitoksen omista j\u00e4tteist\u00e4 tuleviin vuotuisiin s\u00e4teilyannoksiin. Pitk\u00e4aikaisturvallisuusanalyysi vaatii, ett\u00e4 loppusijoitusj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n ja j\u00e4tteiden kehitys tarkastelujakson aikana on mallinnettava matemaattisesti, ja t\u00e4h\u00e4n k\u00e4ytettiin Ecolego -mallinnusohjelmistoa. J\u00e4tteiden loppusijoitukseen on valittu kaksi mahdollista j\u00e4tetilaa, jotka ovat huoltoj\u00e4tetila 2 (MWH2) ja k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4poistoj\u00e4tetila 1 (DWH1). The processes generate nuclear waste and one possible disposal location of the waste is Loviisa LILW repository owned by Fortum Power and Heat Oy. The purpose of this work is to show that the disposal of VTT\u2019s decommissioning wastes into the Loviisa LILW repository does not cause a significant increase in the annual dose rate caused by the waste originating from Loviisa NPP. The radionuclide release from VTT\u2019s decommissioning waste and their transport in the disposal system over the assessment period of 100 000 years have been modelled with Ecolego modelling software. Two waste caverns were considered as potential disposal caverns: maintenance waste hall 2 (MWH2) and decommissioning waste hall 1 (DWH1). The highest annual dose rate and normalized release rate (ratio between releases into surface environment divided with respective regulatory constraints) were calculated from the reference case of DWH1 with the values of 0.713 \u03bcSv/a and 0.00132 respectively and the results for the reference case of MWH2 were lower. The results remained below 2 % of the constraints. Therefore, VTT\u2019s decommissioning wastes contribute only slightly to the doses and releases caused by Loviisa NPP\u2019s own waste, thus the disposal can be carried out safely from the perspective of the long-term safety. One purpose of this work was also to identify uncertainties relating to the decommissioning wastes, possibly requiring additional research.
