Motoriset perustaidot luovat edellytykset lasten liikkumiselle sek\u00e4 fyysiselle aktiivisuudelle, mink\u00e4 takia on t\u00e4rke\u00e4\u00e4 tarkastella tekij\u00f6it\u00e4, jotka ovat yhteydess\u00e4 lasten motoristen taitojen oppimiseen ja kehittymiseen. Ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n tulisi tukea lasten motorista kehittymist\u00e4 sek\u00e4 luoda riitt\u00e4v\u00e4t mahdollisuudet motoristen taitojen harjoittelun toteuttamiseen. Parhaimmassa tapauksessa ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6 voi edist\u00e4\u00e4 lasten motorisia taitoja ja luoda sit\u00e4 kautta pohjan elinik\u00e4isille liikuntataidoille. Koti voidaan n\u00e4hd\u00e4 merkitt\u00e4v\u00e4n\u00e4 liikuntaymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n\u00e4 motoristen taitojen oppimisen ja kehittymisen kannalta, koska lapset ovat jatkuvassa vuorovaikutuksessa kodin, kotipihan sek\u00e4 l\u00e4hiymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n kanssa. \nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on tutkia kodin fyysisen ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n yhteyksi\u00e4 5\u20137-vuotiaiden lasten motorisiin perustaitoihin. Tutkimuksessa selvitet\u00e4\u00e4n lasten kodin sis\u00e4tilojen, piha-alueiden sek\u00e4 l\u00e4hiymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n liikuntaolosuhteiden yhteyksi\u00e4 motorisiin perustaitoihin. Lis\u00e4ksi tutkimuksessa verrataan kodin sis\u00e4- ja ulkotiloissa tapahtuvan omaehtoisen liikunnan sek\u00e4 organisoidun liikunnan yhteyksi\u00e4 lasten motoristen perustaitojen hallintaan. T\u00e4h\u00e4n tutkimukseen on k\u00e4ytetty Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston Liikuntatieteellisen tiedekunnan Taitavat Tenavat \u2013 tutkimukseen ker\u00e4tty\u00e4 aineistoa. T\u00e4h\u00e4n tutkimukseen valikoitui yhteens\u00e4 784 5\u20137-vuotiasta lasta (404 poikaa ja 380 tytt\u00f6\u00e4). Tutkimusaineisto on ker\u00e4tty 37 eri p\u00e4iv\u00e4kodista, 24:lt\u00e4 eri paikkakunnalta ymp\u00e4ri Suomea vuosien 2015-2016 aikana. Tiedot kodin liikuntaolosuhteista ker\u00e4ttiin tutkimukseen osallistuneiden vanhempien t\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 kyselylomakkeella ja lasten motorisia perustaitoja mitattiin Test of Gross Motor Development Third Edition (TGMD-3) testill\u00e4 (Ulrich 2019). Aineiston analysointi tehtiin SPSS \u2013 ohjelmalla (IBM SPSS Statistics 24). Aineiston analysoinnissa k\u00e4ytettiin kuvailevia menetelmi\u00e4 (keskiarvot, keskihajonnat, prosenttiosuudet) sek\u00e4 yksisuuntaista varianssianalyysia. Muuttujien v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 yhteyksi\u00e4 ja tilastollista merkitsevyytt\u00e4 tutkittiin t-testeill\u00e4 sek\u00e4 Pearsonin korrelaatiokertoimella.\nTulokset osoittivat tilastollisesti merkitsevi\u00e4 yhteyksi\u00e4 sukupuolen sek\u00e4 i\u00e4n ja motoristen perustaitojen v\u00e4lille siten, ett\u00e4 vanhemmat lapset olivat taitavampia kuin nuoremmat ja poikien taidot olivat tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 paremmat. Kodin fyysisen ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n liikuntapaikoista merkitsevimm\u00e4t yhteydet olivat pallokent\u00e4n, j\u00e4\u00e4hallin sek\u00e4 luistinradan k\u00e4ytt\u00e4misell\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi uimahallilla ja yleisurheilukent\u00e4ll\u00e4 oli merkitsevi\u00e4 yhteyksi\u00e4 lasten motorisiin perustaitoihin. Jos lapsella oli k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n jokin n\u00e4ist\u00e4 liikuntapaikoista, h\u00e4nell\u00e4 oli muita lapsia paremmat motoriset perustaidot. Lasten k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 olevista digilaitteista pelikonsolilla, televisiolla, tietokoneella sek\u00e4 jollain muulla digilaitteella (esim. musiikkisoitin tai perheen yhteinen \u00e4lylaite) oli yhteyksi\u00e4 lasten motorisiin perustaitoihin. Piha-alueen saatavuudella oli merkitsev\u00e4 yhteys ainoastaan poikien motorisiin taitoihin. Lis\u00e4ksi organisoituun liikuntaan osallistuminen oli merkitsev\u00e4sti yhteydess\u00e4 5\u20137-vuotiaiden lasten parempiin motorisiin perustaitoihin. Sen sijaan omalla huoneella, asumismuodolla tai kodin sis\u00e4tilojen ja piha-alueen omaehtoisella liikkumisella ei n\u00e4ytt\u00e4nyt t\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen mukaan olevan tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4\u00e4 yhteytt\u00e4 lasten motorisiin taitoihin.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The development of fundamental motor skills is vital during the early years of physical activity, as 5\u20137-year olds are highly prone to motor skill improvements. Fundamental motor skills form a foundation for the physical activity of children. For this reason, it is important to analyze and research different factors that weigh into the learning and development of motor skills at a young age. The environment should support the improvement of children\u2019s motor skills, as well as create opportunities for practicing these skills. Best case scenario the environment can have the capability to foster the motor skills of children and therefore form a base for lifelong sports skills. Home environments can be identified as pivotal in the learning and development of motor skills. Children are constantly engaging in physical activity within their home environment, which includes houses, home yards, and neighborhoods. \nThe purpose of this research is to examine the connection between 5\u20137-year-old children\u2019s motor skills and physical environment of home. This study will investigate how different aspects of home, such as the interior of a house, the home yard and neighborhood are connected to basic motor skills. In addition, this study further explores and compares the effect of self-motivated and instructed physical activity on the control of fundamental motor skills of children, in both indoor and outdoor areas of home environments. Data and material from the Taitavat Tenavat research have been used in this study. A total of 784 5\u20137-year-old children (404 boys and 380 girls) were selected for this research. Research material and data have been collected from 37 different ECEC centers. located in 24 different places around Finland between 2015-2016. Information on physical conditions of home were collected in the form of questionnaires from participants. Furthermore, the Test of Gross Motor Development Third Edition (TGMD-3) was used to measure the fundamental motor skills of children (Ulrich 2019). The data was analyzed with SPSS (IBM SPSS Statistics 24). Descriptive methods (averages, standard deviations, percentages) and one-way anova were used to further analyze the data. Relationships between variables and statistical significance were examined using t-tests and Pearsons correlation coefficient.\nThe results confirmed the association between the different aspects of home environments and the control of fundamental motor skills. Moreover, variables including age and gender also proved to be significantly associated with motor skills. Older children were better than younger children and boys were better than girls in motor skills. Out of the nearby neighborhood physical activity venues, football fields, ice rinks, skating rinks, swimming halls and athletic fields were significantly associated with motor skills. If child had access to some of these physical activity venues, he or she had better motor skills than the other children. From the home electronics game console, television, computer and some other device (for example. music device or family\u2019s shared smart device) were also significantly associated with motor skills. Yard availability was significantly associated only with boys motor skills. In addition, participating in instructed physical activity was significantly associated with better motor skills of 5\u20137-year-old children.
