Ravitsemusta tarkasteltiin sukupuolittain, p\u00e4\u00e4lajiryhmitt\u00e4in (joukkuelajit, kamppailulajit ja esteettiset lajit, muut yksil\u00f6lajit) sek\u00e4 jakaen tutkittavat liikuntasuosituksen toteutumisen ja liikunnan kokonaism\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n mukaisesti eri ryhmiin. Tutkielman kohteena olivat urheiluyl\u00e4koulukokeilussa syksyll\u00e4 2017 aloittaneet 7. -luokkalaiset nuoret. Aineisto ker\u00e4ttiin elektronisella kyselylomakkeella ja tammikuun 2018 loppuun menness\u00e4 kyselyyn oli vastannut 217 urheiluyl\u00e4koululaista yhdest\u00e4toista koulusta. Kyselyn vastausprosentti oli 57,9 %. Aineisto analysoitiin vuoden 2018 aikana. Ryhmien v\u00e4listen erojen selvitt\u00e4miseen k\u00e4ytettiin ristiintaulukointia ja Khiin neli\u00f6 (\u03c72) -testi\u00e4. Aineiston kuvailemiseen k\u00e4ytettiin frekvenssej\u00e4 ja prosenttiosuuksia.\n\nRavitsemusk\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymiseen kuului t\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkielmassa aamiaisen sy\u00f6minen arkisin ja viikonloppuisin, aamiaisen ja ilta-aterian sy\u00f6misen yleisyys \u00e4idin tai is\u00e4n kanssa, 5\u20136 aterian ateriarytmin ja ruoanlaittoon osallistumisen yleisyys. Ruokafrekvensseiss\u00e4 tarkasteltiin sit\u00e4, miten monena p\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4 viikossa tutkittavat s\u00f6iv\u00e4t hedelmi\u00e4, vihanneksia, kalaa, makeisia tai suklaata, sokerisia virvoitusjuomia ja energiajuomia.\n\nUrheiluyl\u00e4koululaisten ravitsemustottumukset olivat tulosten mukaan l\u00e4hemp\u00e4n\u00e4 ravitsemussuosituksia kuin kansallisissa tutkimuksissa on osoitettu. Ryhmien v\u00e4lisiss\u00e4 vertailuissa sukupuoli- ja p\u00e4\u00e4lajiryhmien sek\u00e4 liikuntasuosituksen toteutumisen mukaisesti jaettujen ryhmien v\u00e4lill\u00e4 oli useita tilastollisesti merkitsevi\u00e4 eroja, mutta liikunnan kokonaism\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4n mukaisesti jaetuissa ryhmiss\u00e4 ei ollut tilastollisesti merkitsevi\u00e4 eroja. Tulokset osoittivat tytt\u00f6jen ravitsemuksen olevan hieman l\u00e4hemp\u00e4n\u00e4 ravitsemussuosituksia kuin poikien ravitsemus, mutta ei kuitenkaan jokaisella osa-alueella. Tyt\u00f6t s\u00f6iv\u00e4t vihanneksia (p=.000) ja osallistuivat ruoanlaittoon (p=.009) s\u00e4\u00e4nn\u00f6llisemmin, ja pojat joivat sokerisia virvoitusjuomia (p=.000) ja energiajuomia (p=.011) tyypillisemmin. Monella osa-alueella muiden yksil\u00f6lajien harrastajien ravitsemus oli l\u00e4himp\u00e4n\u00e4 suosituksia ja joukkuelajien harrastajilla kauimpana suosituksista. Muiden yksil\u00f6lajien harrastajat osallistuivat ruoanlaittoon muiden lajien harrastajia tyypillisemmin (p=.007). Joukkuelajien harrastajat s\u00f6iv\u00e4t hedelmi\u00e4 (p=.018) ja vihanneksia (p=.001) harvemmin ja joivat sokerisia virvoitusjuomia (p=.000) tyypillisemmin kuin muissa p\u00e4\u00e4lajiryhmiss\u00e4. Liikuntasuosituksen p\u00e4ivitt\u00e4in t\u00e4ytti 56,1 % ja v\u00e4hint\u00e4\u00e4n 20 tuntia viikossa liikkui 64,5 %. P\u00e4ivitt\u00e4in liikuntasuosituksen t\u00e4ytt\u00e4vill\u00e4 nuorilla ravitsemus oli suuntaa antavasti parempaa kuin yhten\u00e4 tai useampana p\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4 riitt\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00f6m\u00e4sti liikkuvilla. Liikuntasuosituksen t\u00e4ytt\u00e4v\u00e4t nuoret s\u00f6iv\u00e4t 5\u20136 ateriaa p\u00e4iv\u00e4ss\u00e4 s\u00e4\u00e4nn\u00f6llisemmin (p=.036), s\u00f6iv\u00e4t hedelmi\u00e4 p\u00e4ivitt\u00e4in tyypillisemmin (p=.021) ja kalaa suositusten mukaisesti useammin (p=.050) kuin suositukseen ylt\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00f6m\u00e4t nuoret. Enemm\u00e4n liikkuvien ryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 ravitsemus oli suuntaa-antavasti parempaa kuin v\u00e4hemm\u00e4n liikkuvilla. \n\nUrheiluyl\u00e4koululaisten ravitsemus ei t\u00e4ysin vastannut Valtion ravitsemusneuvottelukunnan ravitsemussuosituksia. Terveytt\u00e4 edist\u00e4vien tapojen omaksumisessa on viel\u00e4 parannettavaa, vaikka tulokset olivat v\u00e4est\u00f6tasoa parempia. Urheilijanuorten ravitsemukseen on panostettava, jotta se edist\u00e4\u00e4 heid\u00e4n kasvuaan ja kehityst\u00e4, arjessa jaksamista ja urheiluharrastuksissaan kehittymist\u00e4.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The purpose of this study was to investigate Finnish secondary school of sports\u2019 students\u2019 weekly nutrition by using food frequencies and eating habits. Nutrition was examined by gender, main sport group (e.g. team sports, martial arts and aesthetic sports, other individual sports) and groups with different amount of physical activity. The study`s participants composed of seventh graders who started secondary school of sports trials in August 2017. The data was collected by electronic questionnaire. Before February 2018 the questionnaire was answered by 217 secondary school of sports' students from 11 schools. The answering per cent was 57,9 %. Differences between groups were analyzed using crosstabulation and chi-squared (\u03c72) -tests. The data was evaluated with frequencies and percentages.\n\nIn this study, eating habits included having breakfast on weekdays and weekends, having meals at home with a parent, having 5\u20136 meals per day and participating in meal preparing. In food frequencies it was studied how often participants consumed fruit, vegetables, fish, candy or chocolate, sugary beverages or energy drinks.\n\nResults showed that secondary school of sport students` nutrition was closer to nutrition recommendations compared to national results. There were many statistically significant differences when examining the nutrition according to sex, main sport group and achieving the physical activity recommendation. There were no statistically significant differences when examining the nutrition according to the amount of the physical activity. Girls ate vegetables (p=.009) and participated in meal preparing (p=.000) more often than boys. Boys consumed sugary beverages (p=.000) and energy drinks (p=.011) more often than girls. When examining the nutrition according to main sport group, other individual sport athletes' nutrition was closest and team sport athletes' nutrition was furthest to nutrition recommendations in many study fields. Other individual sport athletes participated in meal prepairing more often than other sport groups (p=.007). Team sport athletes consumed fruit (p=.018) and vegetables (p=.001) less frequently and sugary beverages (p=.000) more often than other sport groups.\n\nMore than half (56,1 %) of the secondary school students achieved the physical activity recommendation on the daily basis and 64,5 % exercised at least 20 hours per week. Nutrition of the participants who achieved the physical activity recommendation daily was better than participants who didn\u00b4t achieved the recommendation: they had 5-6 meals per day more often (p=.036), consumed fruit daily more typical (p=.021) and consumed fish according to nutrition recommendations more often (p=.050). Participants who exercised at least 20 hours per week had directional better nutrition than participants who excercised less than that but the differences weren\u00b4t statistically significant differences.\n\nSecondary school of sport students` nutrition was slightly insufficient compared to Finnish food authority's nutrition recommendations. Even if this study's results were better compared to national results, it\u00b4s important to invest in young athletes nutrition.
