DSR service is implemented as a cloud service, where high-power home appliances are switched off, if \r\nthere are consumption overload in the power grid and the flexibility is needed. \r\nThe service is necessary, especially when the use of electric cars increases. As \r\nelectricity consumption is expected to increase, it creates challenges for electricity network capacity. Increased production in the near future, as well as moving \r\ntowards more carbon-neutral production mode, will increase the challenges for \r\nthe adequacy of electricity. With this service, it is possible to equalize the consumption of electricity with periods of household consumption. \r\nHowever, it is challenging to get households into this DSR service. This \r\nopened the possibility of exploring further how users can be engaged to the \r\nservice. The problem was solved through the operator's commitment, exploring \r\nthe factors that affected the use of the service. The study was carried out as a \r\nqualitative case study, which dealt with the future electricity market and its \r\nDSR service. The data was collected through interviews (= 24), utilizing a special Laddering technique. From the responses the graphical thematic maps were \r\ncreated describing the most important things the respondents experienced. The \r\ndata included the attributes, consequences and values with relationships between them. Respondents felt that the most important features related to the \r\nuser\u2019s opportunity to participate in the service, the availability of the service \r\nand the production of a common good through the service. The most important \r\nvalue factors were own and others well-being, the economy and the well-being \r\nof the environment. \r\nAs a base theory for this study, actor engagement, value co-creation and \r\nvalue co-destruction were found most suitable. Based on this framework built \r\non the theory, a solution was developed for the research problem. Also, the \r\npossibility to value co-destruction in this context was presented. T\u00e4m\u00e4n palvelun avulla pystyt\u00e4\u00e4n tasaamaan s\u00e4hk\u00f6nkulutusta aikajaksoilta, jolloin kulutuspiikkej\u00e4 tapahtuu, kotitalouksien avulla. \r\nHaasteelliseksi kuitenkin koetaan kotitalouksien saaminen s\u00e4hk\u00f6n kysynt\u00e4joustopalvelun piiriin. T\u00e4m\u00e4 avasi mahdollisuuden tutkia tarkemmin, kuinka \r\nk\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4t saadaan sitoutettua palveluun. Ongelmaa ryhdyttiin selvitt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n \r\ntoimijan sitoumuksen kautta, selvitt\u00e4en tekij\u00f6it\u00e4, jotka vaikuttivat eniten palvelun k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n. Tutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena tapaustutkimuksena, jossa tapauksena k\u00e4siteltiin tulevaisuuden s\u00e4hk\u00f6markkinoita ja sen luomaa kysynt\u00e4joustopalvelua. Aineistoa ker\u00e4ttiin haastatteluiden (=24) kautta, hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4en \r\nerityist\u00e4 Laddering-tekniikkaa. Aineistoista muodostettiin teemakarttoja, joilla \r\nkuvattiin vastaajien t\u00e4rkeimm\u00e4ksi kokemia asioita, niiden ominaisuuksia, my\u00f6t\u00e4vaikutuksia ja arvotekij\u00f6it\u00e4 sek\u00e4 n\u00e4iden v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 suhteita. T\u00e4rkeimmiksi asioik-\r\nsi uuden palvelun k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n liittyen vastaajat kokivat k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4n mahdollisuuden \r\nosallistua palveluun, palvelun saatavuus sek\u00e4 yhteisen hyv\u00e4n tuottaminen pal-\r\nvelun avulla. T\u00e4rkeimmiksi arvotekij\u00f6iksi nousivat hyvinvointi, talous sek\u00e4 \r\nymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n hyvinvointi. \r\nTutkimuksen taustalla k\u00e4ytettiin apuna teoriaa toimijoiden sitouttamisesta, \r\narvon yhteisluonnista sek\u00e4 arvon tuhoutumisesta. N\u00e4iden teorioiden pohjalta \r\nrakennetun viitekehyksen perusteella laadittiin ratkaisu tutkimusongelmaan. \r\nSamalla pohdittiin mahdollisuutta arvon tuhoutumiselle kyseisess\u00e4 kontekstissa.
