Tutkimuksessamme k\u00e4ytetty Hermeneutic Single Case Efficacy Design (HSCED)-tutkimusmenetelm\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 kliinikoiden jokap\u00e4iv\u00e4isess\u00e4 ty\u00f6ss\u00e4\u00e4n k\u00e4ytt\u00e4mi\u00e4 menetelmi\u00e4, mik\u00e4 kaventaa tutkimuksen ja k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n v\u00e4list\u00e4 kuilua. HSCED- tutkimusmenetelm\u00e4n mukaisesti tarkastelimme, onko tutkittavan lapsen ja h\u00e4nen perheens\u00e4 hyvinvoinnissa tapahtunut muutosta perheterapiajakson aikana sek\u00e4 sit\u00e4, onko tapahtunut muutos perheterapian aikaansaamaa. Lis\u00e4ksi selvitimme, mitk\u00e4 spesifit terapian sis\u00e4iset ja ulkoiset muuttujat ovat voineet vaikuttaa tapahtuneeseen muutokseen. Aineistomme koostui yhden perheen kotona ja kodin ulkopuolisissa tiloissa toteutetuista perheterapiaistuntojen videotallenteista, taustatiedoista sek\u00e4 lomakeaineistosta. Tutkimusprojekti toteutettiin yhteisty\u00f6ss\u00e4 Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston Psykoterapian opetus- ja tutkimusklinikan ja Kuopion yliopistollisen sairaalan lastenpsykiatrian poliklinikan kanssa.\nTulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 tutkittavan lapsen ja h\u00e4nen perheens\u00e4 hyvinvoinnissa tapahtui positiivista muutosta perheterapiajakson aikana, mik\u00e4 on eritt\u00e4in todenn\u00e4k\u00f6isesti perheterapian aikaansaamaa. Terapian sis\u00e4isi\u00e4, muutokseen mahdollisesti vaikuttaneita tekij\u00f6it\u00e4 olivat perheterapian toteuttaminen joustavasti perheen kotona ja kodin ulkopuolisissa tiloissa sek\u00e4 videotallenteiden l\u00e4pik\u00e4ynti yhdess\u00e4 terapeuttien ja vanhempien kesken. Terapian ulkopuolisia tekij\u00f6it\u00e4 olivat perheen kuopuksen syntym\u00e4, \u00e4idin oma psykologikontakti sek\u00e4 is\u00e4n ty\u00f6h\u00f6n sitoutuminen. The child had been diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Asperger syndrome. This research subject is relevant due to clinicians\u2019 lacking understanding of the multidimensional nature of change caused by psychotherapy as well of the specific within-therapy factors and nontherapy factors that may affect to the change process. Hermeneutic Single Case Efficacy Design (HSCED) is a research method utilizing methods for data collection that are often previously familiar to clinicians, which provides an opportunity to bridge the research-practice gap. In this study, we addressed the standard HSCED research questions of whether a change has occurred within the well-being of the child and his family during their family therapy process and whether this possible change was due to the family therapy, as well as which specific within-therapy factors and nontherapy factors may have affected to this particular change process. In this study, the collection of data consisted of video tapes of the family therapy sessions that were conducted both at the family\u2019s home and outside of the family\u2019s house, background information of the family members and the therapists, and quantitative measurements. This research project was implemented in cooperation between\nthe Psychotherapy Training and Research Centre of University\nof Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 and Kuopio University Hospital Child Psychiatry clinic.\nThe results of this study indicated that there had been a significant change occurring within\nthe well-being of the investigated child and his family during the family therapy process, which was most likely due to the therapy. The within-therapy factors that were possibly affecting the process of change consisted of the adaptable implementation of the therapy both inside and outside of the home of the family, as well as watching the video tapes of the therapy sessions together with the therapists. The nontherapy factors that were possibly affecting the process of change consisted of the birth of the youngest child of the family, the separate psychological treatment of the mother and the father\u2019s commitment towards his career. The outcomes of this study demonstrated the multidimensional nature of the change processes occurred within the framework of psychotherapy and the factors that may affect to it.
