Todellisuudessa t\u00e4m\u00e4 ei juurikaan n\u00e4y olemassa olevassa kurssimateriaalissa, vaan esimerkiksi englannin kielen oppikirjoissa muutamaa sivua pidemm\u00e4t tekstit on annettu ehdotetun lukemisen -kirjalistoina. Pidemm\u00e4t tekstit eiv\u00e4t suinkaan ole vain opetussuunnitelman vaatimus, vaan jotain mist\u00e4 opiskelijat hy\u00f6tyv\u00e4t my\u00f6s lukion j\u00e4lkeisess\u00e4 el\u00e4m\u00e4ss\u00e4\u00e4n. L\u00e4hes jokainen lukion k\u00e4ynyt nuori varmasti t\u00f6rm\u00e4\u00e4 joko jatko-opinnoissa tai ty\u00f6el\u00e4m\u00e4ss\u00e4 tilanteeseen, jossa pit\u00e4isi lukea pidempi teksti englanniksi, ja t\u00e4llaisessa tilanteessa heit\u00e4 varmasti hy\u00f6dytt\u00e4isi se, ett\u00e4 heill\u00e4 olisi t\u00e4st\u00e4 jo kokemusta. T\u00e4m\u00e4 ty\u00f6 pit\u00e4\u00e4 sis\u00e4ll\u00e4\u00e4n paitsi itse materiaalipaketin, my\u00f6s teoriakehyksen, jonka pohjalta materiaali on suunniteltu. Teoriat, joita ty\u00f6ss\u00e4 hy\u00f6dynnet\u00e4\u00e4n linkittyv\u00e4t kaikki l\u00e4heisesti toisiinsa. L\u00e4ht\u00f6kohtana toimivat autenttiset materiaalit vieraan kielen opetuksessa, sek\u00e4 sy\u00f6te- hypoteesi ja CLIL-opetus. N\u00e4iden lis\u00e4ksi teorioiden joukkoon mahtui kommunikatiivinen opetus, harjoituspohjainen oppiminen, ongelmal\u00e4ht\u00f6inen oppiminen, teksti- l\u00e4ht\u00f6inen suuntaus ja yhteistoiminnallinen oppiminen. Kaiken kaikkiaan materiaali siis pohjaa siihen, ett\u00e4 kielt\u00e4 k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n v\u00e4lineen\u00e4 sek\u00e4 teht\u00e4viss\u00e4 ett\u00e4 kommunikaatiossa. CLIL pedagogisena l\u00e4ht\u00f6kohtana tarkoittaa my\u00f6s sit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 materiaalissa osittain kaksoisfokus, sill\u00e4 sis\u00e4lt\u00f6 eli kirjallisuus ei ole vain v\u00e4line, vaan my\u00f6s opiskeltava asia. Sis\u00e4lt\u00f6tietona materiaalissa on siis Alice\u2019s Adventures in Wonderland -romaanin kirjallisuusanalyysi.
