Tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 lasten tarkkaamattomuus- sek\u00e4 yliaktiivisuus- ja impulsiivisuusoireiden yhteytt\u00e4 sis\u00e4\u00e4n- ja ulosp\u00e4in suuntautuviin sosioemotionaalisen oireilun alakategorioihin eli mielialaoireisiin, ahdistuneisuuteen, somaattisiin oireisiin, uhmakkuuteen ja k\u00e4yt\u00f6songelmiin. Lis\u00e4ksi tavoitteena oli tutkia lasten sukupuolen sek\u00e4 kognitiivisen kyvykkyyden vaikutusta ADHD-oireiden ja sosioemotionaalisen oireilun v\u00e4lisiin yhteyksiin.\n\nTutkimuksen kliininen aineisto perustuu Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n perheneuvolan ja Niilo M\u00e4ki Instituutin yll\u00e4pit\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 Lastentutkimusklinikalla tehtyihin oppimisvaikeustutkimuksiin. Aineisto koostuu lasten neuropsykologisista testituloksista sek\u00e4 vanhempien ja opettajien arvioinneista lasten tunne-el\u00e4m\u00e4st\u00e4 ja k\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisest\u00e4. Tutkimuksiin tulleilla lapsilla on ollut ep\u00e4ily oppimisen vaikeuksista. T\u00e4h\u00e4n tutkimukseen valittiin mukaan ne 1.\u20136. -luokkalaiset lapset, joilta l\u00f6ytyi tieto ADHD-oireista opettajan arvioimana sek\u00e4 tieto sosioemotionaalisesta oireilusta \u00e4idin arvioimana. Lis\u00e4ksi lapsilta tuli l\u00f6yty\u00e4 tieto lukemisen ja matematiikan taidon tasosta, i\u00e4st\u00e4, sukupuolesta ja kognitiivisesta kyvykkyydest\u00e4.\n\nLasten ADHD-oireita arvioitiin opettajille tarkoitetulla TRF-kyselylomakkeella. Lasten \u00e4idit t\u00e4yttiv\u00e4t vanhemmille tarkoitetun CBCL-kyselylomakkeen, jolla arvioitiin lasten sosioemotionaalista oireilua. Lasten kognitiivista kyvykkyytt\u00e4 tutkittiin WISC-testist\u00f6n eri versioilla, ja lukemisen ja matematiikan taidon tasoa arvioitiin Lastentutkimusklinikalla k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 olleiden lukemisen ja matematiikan testien avulla. Tilastollisissa analyyseiss\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin hierarkkista regressioanalyysi\u00e4.\n\nTulokset osoittivat, ett\u00e4 sek\u00e4 tarkkaamattomuus ett\u00e4 yliaktiivisuus ja impulsiivisuus olivat yhteydess\u00e4 ulosp\u00e4in suuntautuviin oireisiin eli uhmakkuuteen ja k\u00e4yt\u00f6songelmiin. Mit\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n lapsella oli ADHD-oireita, sit\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n h\u00e4nell\u00e4 oli my\u00f6s ulosp\u00e4in suuntautuvaa oireilua. ADHD-oireiden yhteys ulosp\u00e4in suuntautuviin oireisiin oli kuitenkin voimakkaampi yliaktiivisuus- ja impulsiivisuusoireiden osalta. Yliaktiivisuus- ja impulsiivisuusoireilla oli my\u00f6s tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4 positiivinen yhteys sis\u00e4\u00e4np\u00e4in suuntautuneisiin oireisiin, mutta selitysosuudet j\u00e4iv\u00e4t pieniksi. ADHD-oireiden ja sosioemotionaalisten oireiden v\u00e4lisiss\u00e4 yhteyksiss\u00e4 ainoa sukupuoliero havaittiin ahdistuneisuuden osalta. Kognitiivisella kyvykkyydell\u00e4 ei havaittu olevan vaikutusta ADHD-oireiden ja sosioemotionaalisen oireilun v\u00e4lisiin yhteyksiin.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The aim of the study was to investigate the relationship between ADHD core symptoms and socioemotional problems among school age children with learning difficulties. Connections between ADHD symptoms and both internalizing and externalizing symptoms were examined. Internalizing symptoms included affective problems, anxiety problems and somatic problems. Externalizing symptoms consisted of oppositional defiant problems and conduct problems. The role of gender and cognitive ability in the relationships between ADHD symptoms and socioemotional problems were investigated.\n\nThe clinical sample consisted of children who were referred to the Clinic of Learning Disabilities founded by Niilo M\u00e4ki Institute and Family Counseling Center of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 for learning disability assessment. The data is based on children\u2019s neuropsychological test results and parents\u2019 and teachers\u2019 evaluations on children\u2019s socioemotional functioning. Participants were 1st to 6th grade students. Information on age, gender, ADHD symptoms, socioemotional functioning, cognitive ability, reading and mathematical skills were gathered. \n\nChildren\u2019s ADHD symptoms were evaluated by TRF questionnaire for teachers. Mothers evaluated children\u2019s socioemotional problems by CBCL questionnaire. Cognitive ability was measured by WISC, and reading and mathematical skills were measured by reading and calculation tests used at the clinic. Hierarchical regression analysis was used.\n\nResults indicated that both inattention and hyperactivity-impulsivity were connected to oppositional defiant and conduct problems. The more ADHD symptoms a child had, the more externalizing symptoms the child had. The connections between hyperactivity-impulsivity and externalizing symptoms were stronger than the connections between inattention and oppositional defiant or conduct problems. Hyperactivity-impulsivity symptoms were also connected to internalizing symptoms, but the connections were weaker. The only gender difference was found between ADHD symptoms and anxiety problems.
