Tutkimukseen osallistui 110\nyhdeks\u00e4sluokkalaista (71 tytt\u00f6\u00e4 ja 39 poikaa) nelj\u00e4st\u00e4 keskisuomalaisesta yl\u00e4koulusta. Tutkimus\ntoteutettiin kev\u00e4iden 2012 ja 2013 aikana kyselylomakkeen avulla, jossa oppilaat arvioivat mik\u00e4\non hyv\u00e4lle ruotsinopettajalle ominaista, oppimistaan ruotsintunneilla ja asennettaan\nruotsinopiskeluun. Lomake koostui monivalintav\u00e4itt\u00e4mist\u00e4 ja yhdest\u00e4 avoimesta kysymyksest\u00e4.\nMateriaalia tarkasteltiin p\u00e4\u00e4asiallisesti kvantitatiivisin menetelmin. Tarkastelin aineistoa aluksi\nfaktorianalyysin (p\u00e4\u00e4akselianalyysi) avulla. Faktorianalyysi ei tuottanut sis\u00e4ll\u00f6llisesti\nmielekk\u00e4it\u00e4 ratkaisuja, joten muodostin opettajan kompetenssia kuvaavat summamuuttujat\n(selkeys, didaktiset taidot, tunne- ja vuorovaikutustaidot, suullinen kielitaito, motivointi)\nsis\u00e4ll\u00f6llisin perustein aiempien tutkimusten pohjalta (Tuokko 2009; Lehti-Eklund & Green-\nV\u00e4nttinen 2011; H\u00e5kansson & Sundberg 2012; Caruso 2015). Summamuuttujien Cronbachin\nalfakertoimet vaihtelivat v\u00e4lill\u00e4 .74-.85 ja ne olivat toisiinsa positiivisesti yhteydess\u00e4 (r=.41-.60)\nlukuunottamatta selkeytt\u00e4 ja motivointia (r=.13). Tarkastelin Pearsonin\ntulomomenttikorrelaatiokertoimen avulla oppilaiden arvostaman opettajan kompetenssin ja\noppimisen sek\u00e4 asenteiden v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 yhteyksi\u00e4. Mit\u00e4 my\u00f6nteisempi asenne oppilaalla oli\nruotsinopetusta kohtaan, sit\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n h\u00e4n koki oppineensa ruotsintunneilla.\nOpettajakompetenssin ja oppimisen sek\u00e4 asenteiden v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 yhteyksi\u00e4 ei l\u00f6ytynyt. Oppilaat\nkokivat oppineensa keskim\u00e4\u00e4rin melko hyvin ja asenteet olivat melko neutraaleja.\nOppilaat arvostivat hyv\u00e4ss\u00e4 ruotsinopettajassa eniten selkeytt\u00e4, didaktista osaamista ja\nvuorovaikutustaitoja. T\u00e4rkeint\u00e4 oli, ett\u00e4 opettaja auttaa ja on tasapuolinen. Oppilaat toivoivat\nlis\u00e4\u00e4 tukea opiskeluun, pari- ja ryhm\u00e4t\u00f6it\u00e4, arkiruotsia, suullisen kielitaidon harjoittamista,\nruotsinkielisi\u00e4 vierailijoita sek\u00e4 tv-sarjoja.
