In this thesis I also orient the basic motor skills and things that influence the process of skill acquisition, so that the principles of nonlinear pedagogy can be considered precisely in skill acquisition point of view. I touch on goals and contents given to physical education in Finnish curriculum (2014) lower secondary education, so that it is possible to see how nonlinear pedagogy can conform to them. I use narrative literature review and thematizing and content breakdown based on theme interview, as research methods in this thesis. In theme interview I interviewed five girls and five boys, who were lower secondary students from 7. grade in Ostrobothnia.\n\nBased on the narrative literature review, nonlinear pedagogy is a pupil-oriented pedagogy and considers the variability of the learning process. Nonlinear pedagogy is based heavily on dynamic systems theory and implicit learning. It is also based on the principles of self-organization of activities and a constraint-based approach. The main principles of nonlinear pedagogy are seeing learners as individuals, awareness of constraints and exploitation, offering alternatives and take account the learning environment.\n\nIn the theme interviews, students gave non-linear pedagogy both positive and negative expressions. From positive expressions it can be concluded that the non-linear style of teaching, for the target population, was fun and produced pleasant experiences, especially through comfort. From the learning point of view, pupils considered command-style teaching more effective than nonlinear pedagogy. One of the reasons for this was clearer instructions in the command style of teaching. It can be concluded from the results of the literature review and the theme interview that the nonlinear pedagogy type of approach to physical education means facing students as individuals and strives to provide everyone with opportunities for positive experiences and enjoyment.\n\nKey words: non-linear pedagogy, skill acquisition, dynamic systems theory", "language": "en", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.provenance", "value": "Submitted by Paivi Vuorio (paelvuor@jyu.fi) on 2019-05-22T08:49:58Z\nNo. of bitstreams: 0", "language": "en", "element": "description", "qualifier": "provenance", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.provenance", "value": "Made available in DSpace on 2019-05-22T08:49:58Z (GMT).
