Kyselyyn vastasi yhteens\u00e4 87 yl\u00e4koulun liikunnanopettajaa, joista 58\noli naisia, 27 miehi\u00e4, 1 muu ja 1 ei halunnut sanoa sukupuoltaan. Aineistoa analysoitiin sek\u00e4\nlaadullisella luokittelulla ett\u00e4 m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4llisill\u00e4 menetelmill\u00e4: ristiintaulukoinnilla, khiin-\nneli\u00f6testill\u00e4, t-testill\u00e4 ja Mann-Whitney\u2019n U-testill\u00e4.\nSuurin osa opettajista piti tytt\u00f6jen ja poikien erillisi\u00e4 opetusryhmi\u00e4 parhaana vaihtoehtona\nyl\u00e4koulun liikuntaan. Noin puolet vastaajista oli sit\u00e4 mielt\u00e4, ett\u00e4 sekaryhm\u00e4tunnit menev\u00e4t\njommankumman sukupuolen ehdoilla. Naiset olivat miehi\u00e4 useammin sit\u00e4 mielt\u00e4, ja\nn\u00e4kemysero oli tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4. Suurin osa vastaajista oli sit\u00e4 mielt\u00e4, ett\u00e4 tyt\u00f6t saavat\ntytt\u00f6ryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n toistoja ja opettajan huomiota kuin sekaryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4. Opettajat olivat\nl\u00e4hes yksimielisi\u00e4 siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4 tytt\u00f6jen on parempi olla tytt\u00f6ryhmiss\u00e4. Suurin osa opettajista\nkuitenkin ajatteli, ett\u00e4 suurimmat erot oppilaiden v\u00e4lill\u00e4 l\u00f6ytyv\u00e4t ennemmin yksil\u00f6iden v\u00e4lilt\u00e4\nkuin sukupuolten v\u00e4lilt\u00e4. Suurin osa oli my\u00f6s sit\u00e4 mielt\u00e4, ett\u00e4 ei vahvista sukupuolirooleja ja\nkaksijakoisuutta omalla opetuksellaan. Ilmi\u00f6ss\u00e4 on siis ristiriitaisuutta. Ryhmien jakamiseen\ntulleista ehdotuksista yksi tuli muita useammin esiin: kahden opettajan (miehen ja naisen)\nryhmien yhdist\u00e4m\u00e4 iso ryhm\u00e4, jota jaetaan erilaisista syist\u00e4 erilaisiin pienryhmiin. Eri\nvastaajat kutsuivat t\u00e4t\u00e4 toteutusta yhteis-, samanaikais- tai rinnakkaisopetukseksi tai -\nopettajuudeksi. Sekaryhm\u00e4\u00e4 eniten opettaneet olivat eniten erillisryhm\u00e4\u00e4 opettaneita\nuseammin sukupuolettoman liikunnanopetuksen kannalla. Puolet vastaajista oli t\u00f6rm\u00e4nnyt\nsukupuoliristiriitaan oppilaidensa joukossa niin, ett\u00e4 asia oli tullut opettajalle ilmi. Suurin osa\nvastaajista koki, ett\u00e4 koululiikunnan maailma ei ole maskuliininen, ja urheilumaailman koki\nmaskuliiniseksi noin puolet vastaajista. Suurin osa opettajista oli t\u00e4ysin eri mielt\u00e4 siit\u00e4, ett\u00e4\nolisi olemassa lajeja, liikuntamuotoja ja tuntisis\u00e4lt\u00f6j\u00e4, jotka eiv\u00e4t sovellu kaikille sukupuolille.\nOpettajien n\u00e4kemykset ja niiden perustelut t\u00e4sm\u00e4siv\u00e4t paljolti taustakirjallisuuden kanssa,\njoten tutkimustulokset tukevat aiempia tutkimuksia. Erillis- ja sekaryhmiss\u00e4 opettaminen\nn\u00e4ytt\u00e4\u00e4 olevan perusteltua, mutta joustava yhteisopettajuus, joka mahdollistaa ryhmien\nmuodostamisen eri tavoin, vaikuttaisi olevan moneen tilanteeseen sopivin vaihtoehto.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "The aim of this study was to find out PE teachers\u2019 views about coeducational groups, single-\ngender groups and gender binarism in Physical Education. Data was collected with electric\nquestionnaire during March 2018. There were 87 PE teachers from upper comprehensive\nschool that answered the questionnaire. 58 of them were women, 27 men, 1 other and 1 did\nnot want to tell the gender. Data was analyzed by qualitative and quantitative methods:\nclassification, Chi-square test and cross tabulation, t-test and Mann-Whitney U-test.\n\nMost of the teachers preferred single-gender groups when it comes to the upper\ncomprehensive schools physical education. Half of the teachers claimed that coeducational PE\nclasses are ruled by boys, and there was a significant difference between genders\u2019 views.\nMost of the teachers preferred single-gender groups for girls since they seem to get more\nrepetitions and teachers attention in that group type. Most of the teachers suggested that the\nbiggest differences among pupils can be found between individuals rather than genders. Most\nof the teachers submitted that they are not reinforcing gender roles and gender binarism by\ntheir teaching. There seems to be discrepancy in this phenomenon. Proposals concerning\ngroup making included one common suggestion: one big group which is split by two teachers\nby different argument, for example gender, pupils\u2019 interest or skill levels. Half of the teachers\nhave been noticed gender identity discrepancy among their pupils. Most of the teachers found\nphysical education non-masculine and half of the teachers found sport masculine. Most of the\nteachers suggested that there is a problem in phrases \u201cwomen push-up\u201d and \u201cmen push-up\u201d.\nWomen agreed more often than men. Most of the teachers submitted that there are no sport or\nclass content which are not suitable for every gender.
