Toisen asteen koulutuksessa ammatillisessa oppilaitoksessa ja lukiossa opiskelevien nuorten v\u00e4lill\u00e4 on systemaattisia eroja lukiolaisten hyv\u00e4ksi. Erityisesti ammatillisessa oppilaitoksessa opiskelevien nuorten hyvinvoinnin tukemiseen tulisikin kiinnitt\u00e4\u00e4 huomiota, ja yhten\u00e4 menetelm\u00e4n\u00e4 t\u00e4h\u00e4n on hyvinvointivalmennus. Nuorten hyvinvoinnin tukemisessa hyvinvointivalmennus on kuitenkin viel\u00e4 v\u00e4h\u00e4n k\u00e4ytetty menetelm\u00e4 ja toisen asteen oppilaitoksissa toteutetuista hyvinvointivalmennuksista ei l\u00f6ydy aiemmasta kirjallisuudesta tietoa.\n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n pro gradu -tutkielman tarkoituksena oli kuvata ammatillisessa oppilaitoksessa opiskelevien nuorten kokemuksia omassa oppilaitoksessaan toteutetusta eBoss-hyvinvointivalmennuksesta. Tutkimuksen aineistona k\u00e4ytettiin eBoss-hyvinvointivalmennukseen osallistuneiden nuorten (N=62) yksil\u00f6teemahaastatteluita. Tutki-musaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin kev\u00e4\u00e4t 2017 aikana. Aineisto analysoitiin laadullisella sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysilla. \n\nNuoret kokivat, ett\u00e4 valmennus kannusti muutokseen esimerkiksi tavoitteen asettamisen my\u00f6t\u00e4. Omassa hyvinvoinnissa havaittiin p\u00e4\u00e4osin positiivisia muutoksia muun muassa elintavoissa ja arjessa jaksamisessa. Nuoret kokivat saaneensa sosiaalista tukea valmennuksen aikana niin vertaisilta kuin valmentajiltakin. Aktiivisuusrannekkeen ja mobiilisovellusten k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4 kohdattiin monia haasteita, mutta ne n\u00e4htiin my\u00f6s hy\u00f6dyllisen\u00e4 oman hyvinvoinnin tukemisessa. Vaikka valmennuksen sis\u00e4lt\u00f6 koettiin p\u00e4\u00e4osin mieluisaksi, n\u00e4htiin valmennuksen k\u00e4yt\u00e4nn\u00f6n j\u00e4rjestelyiss\u00e4 viel\u00e4 kehityskohteita esimerkiksi aikataulutuksessa ja viestinn\u00e4ss\u00e4.\n\nHyvinvointivalmennus on lupaava menetelm\u00e4 ammatillisen oppilaitoksen opiskelijoiden hyvinvoinnin tukemisessa. Valmennuksen suunnittelussa ja toteutuksessa tulisi kuitenkin huomioida viel\u00e4 paremmin kohderyhm\u00e4n tarpeet. The differences in well being between the students in high\nschool and in vocational school are systematic for instance in the area of health behavior.\nThere is a need to target this issue and one potential method for supporting well being is wellness coaching. It has not yet been studied in school environment in improving well being of\nhealthy youth.\nThe aim of this master\u2019s thesis was to describe the experiences of the vocational school students over the school-based eBoss -wellness coaching program that was aimed at improving\nvocational school students\u2019 well being. Qualitative data was gathered during spring 2017 by\nsemi-structured interviews (N=62). The data was analyzed using inductive qualitative content\nanalysis method.\nThe students felt that participating in the wellness coaching gave them tools to initiate changes in their well being and they noticed many, mainly positive changes in the areas of health\nbehaviour, coping in everyday life, emotional well being and social well being. Wellness\ncoaching was also a source of social support for youth. The students faced many challenges in\nusing activity tracker and mobile applications but they also perceived them useful in some\nextent for supporting one\u2019s well being. Even though the students felt that the content of the\nwellness coaching was pleasing, they thought that there were still many targets for development, for example in the areas of scheduling and communication, in the implementation of the\nwellness coaching.\nAccording to these results wellness coaching might be a potential school-based method for\nsupporting vocational school\u2019s students\u2019 well being. The implementation of this wellness\ncoaching method needs some modification so that it suits better to the students\u2019 needs.
