Vaikka tiet\u00e4myksenhallinta yleistyi jo 1990-luvulla tieto- ja viestint\u00e4teknologian kasvun my\u00f6t\u00e4, on se edelleen pinnalla, sill\u00e4 sen potentiaalia ei ole viel\u00e4 osattu hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4\u00e4 tarpeeksi. Tiet\u00e4myksenhallinnalla tarkoitetaan prosessia, jossa esimerkiksi tuotetaan, muokataan, k\u00e4ytet\u00e4\u00e4n ja tallennetaan tietoa. Tiet\u00e4myksenhallinnan tavoitteena on muokata yksil\u00f6ill\u00e4 olevaa tietotaitoa niin, ett\u00e4 se olisi vapaasti kaikkien saatavilla organisaatiossa. Lis\u00e4ksi tiet\u00e4myksenhallinnan avulla pyrit\u00e4\u00e4n innovoimaan uusia tuotteita tai tehostamaan p\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6ksentekoa. T\u00e4m\u00e4 tutkielma kuitenkin kohdennetaan tarkkailemaan tiet\u00e4myksenhallinnan roolia henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n kehitt\u00e4misess\u00e4. Henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n kehitt\u00e4misen tarkoituksena on parantaa henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n suorituskyky\u00e4 koulutusten ja valmennusten kautta. Tutkijoiden mukaan sek\u00e4 tiet\u00e4myksenhallinnasta ett\u00e4 henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n kehitt\u00e4misest\u00e4 on todettu saatavan kest\u00e4v\u00e4\u00e4 kilpailuetua, jonka takia n\u00e4iden kahden k\u00e4sitteen yhdist\u00e4minen on kiinnostava yht\u00e4l\u00f6. Tutkimustuloksista huomataankin tiet\u00e4myksenhallinnan vaikuttavan suuresti henkil\u00f6st\u00f6n kehitt\u00e4miseen. Even though knowledge management became more common already in 1990 along with the growth of ICT it is still a topical subject because people have not discovered its whole potential yet. Knowledge management refers to a process, where people can produce, modify, use and store knowledge. One of the main goals of knowledge management is to modify individual know-how so that it would be available to everyone in the organization. In addition, knowledge management strives to innovate new products or improve decision making. However, this bachelors\u2019 thesis mainly observes what kind of role knowledge management has on human resource development. The purpose of human resource development is to improve personnel performance through training and coaching. According to researchers, both knowledge management and human resource development produce sustainable competitive advantage, which is the reason why connecting these two concepts is interesting. The results show that knowledge management affects greatly to human resource development. Also, the results show that personnel are often developed through training. The purpose of these training events is to transfer information from one person to another or from a device to a human. Knowledge management is often required for this event so that the information reaches its listener, for example, in the right form.
