Projektin aloittamisessa kasvokkain tapahtuva viestint\u00e4 on rikkaampaa, kuin s\u00e4hk\u00f6postilla teht\u00e4v\u00e4 viestint\u00e4. S\u00e4hk\u00f6posti soveltuu viestint\u00e4\u00e4n, jossa informaatioita jaetaan suurille massoille mutta heilt\u00e4 ei vaadita vastausta. The message is sent to another person in a matter of seconds and the response is awaited immediately. This creates a new challenge for the project manager in leading project communication. As the number of communication channels increases, communication becomes less clear and the information flood is difficult to block. With accurate planning, communication stays in defined channels, making the overall project more likely to succeed. Creating project plans accurately and clearly creates the basis for the project. Tracking project manager tasks becomes easier when all project participants are aware of what is being done in the project. The aim of the study was to find out what kind of tasks the project manager does and how he manages project communication. This is supported by communication theories related to media selection. A qualitative research method was chosen to find connections between the presented theories. The research material was collected by a theme interview, where the interviewees were asked questions related to the project and communication. The results of the study showed that the means of communication is important at different stages of the project. Face-to-face messaging is richer than communicating via email. E-mail is suitable for communication where information is distributed to large masses but does not require any response. The choice of the communication tool was largely based on previous experiences and practices. The study also found that investing in pro-project planning right from the start is more likely to succeed. The project plan is the backbone of the project.
