My\u00f6s polkupy\u00f6r\u00e4ergometrill\u00e4 tehdyist\u00e4 lyhyist\u00e4 30 sekunnin tehointervalleista on havaittu olevan hy\u00f6ty\u00e4 pidempikestoiseen kest\u00e4vyyssuoritukseen. Viel\u00e4 ei ole kuitenkaan tehty tutkimuksia lyhyiden 6\u201316 sekunnin py\u00f6r\u00e4voimaintervallien vaikutuksista. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 py\u00f6r\u00e4voimaintervallien vaikutusta py\u00f6r\u00e4ilij\u00f6iden kest\u00e4vyysominaisuuksiin ja py\u00f6r\u00e4ilysuorituskykyyn. Tutkimus sis\u00e4lsi alkutestiviikon, 10 viikon harjoitus- tai seurantajakson sek\u00e4 lopputestiviikon. Tutkittavat olivat 21\u201346-vuotiaita py\u00f6r\u00e4ily\u00e4 v\u00e4hint\u00e4\u00e4n kaksi vuotta harjoitelleita miehi\u00e4, jotka jaettiin kuntosaliryhm\u00e4\u00e4n (KSR, n = 14), py\u00f6r\u00e4voimaryhm\u00e4\u00e4n (PVR, n = 15) ja kontrolliryhm\u00e4\u00e4n (KOR, n = 12). KSR ja PVR tekiv\u00e4t normaalin omatoimisen kest\u00e4vyysharjoittelun lis\u00e4ksi kaksi kertaa viikossa ohjattuja voimaharjoituksia. KSR:n voimatreeni koostui kolmesta eri liikkeest\u00e4: takakyykky, polvenojennus ja yhden jalan jalkapr\u00e4ssi. Jokainen liike koostui useammasta sarjasta (3x 3\u201312 toistoa, 70\u201390 % 1RM). PVR:n voimatreeni poljettiin Wattbike-kuntopy\u00f6rill\u00e4 ja se sis\u00e4lsi useita voimaintervalleja (3x3 x 6\u201316 s, 70\u201390 % maksimitehosta) mahdollisimman raskaalla vastuksella. KOR jatkoi normaalia kest\u00e4vyysharjoitteluaan. Tutkimuksen polkupy\u00f6r\u00e4ergometrimittaukset sis\u00e4lsiv\u00e4t hapenkulutusta ja harjoituskynnyksi\u00e4 mittaavan VO2max-testin, 30 minuutin aika-ajotestin sek\u00e4 Kansainv\u00e4lisen py\u00f6r\u00e4ilyliiton (UCI) profiilitestin (2x6 s, 30 s ja 4 min). T\u00e4m\u00e4n lis\u00e4ksi mitattiin kevennyshyppy ja useita antropometrisia muuttujia.\n\nPVR:n tutkittavat kehittyiv\u00e4t anaerobisen kynnyksen tehossa (2.7 \u00b1 4.1 %, p=0.025), VO2max-testin lopputehossa (2.3 \u00b1 2.7 %, p=0.006), 30 minuutin aika-ajon keskitehossa (3.6 \u00b1 3.4 %, p=0.001) ja 30 sekunnin testin keski- ja maksimitehossa (6.9 \u00b1 9.9 %, p=0.017; 6.9 \u00b1 3.4 %, p<0.001). Kaikki ryhm\u00e4t kehittyiv\u00e4t kuuden sekunnin testin maksimitehoissa (PVR 10.3 \u00b1 7.2 %, p<0.001; KSR 6.1 \u00b1 5.1 %, p<0.001; KOR 3.5 \u00b1 4.0 %, p=0.012). Lis\u00e4ksi PVR ja KSR kehittyiv\u00e4t kuuden sekunnin keskitehon osalta (PVR 8.2 \u00b1 5.3 %, p<0.001; KSR 5.6 \u00b1 5.6 %, p=0.003). PVR kehittyi merkitsev\u00e4sti KOR:\u00e4 paremmin kuuden sekunnin maksimi- ja keskitehossa sek\u00e4 30 sekunnin keskitehossa (p=0.030; p=0.022; p<0.001). Ultra\u00e4\u00e4nimittauksessa PVR:n ja KSR:n vastus lateralis -lihas kasvoi hieman paksuutta (PVR 4.3 \u00b1 5.6 %, p=0.008; KSR 6.1 \u00b1 5.3 %, p=0.001). Poljinvoimamuuttujien osalta KSR:n huippuv\u00e4\u00e4nn\u00f6n kulma pieneni 30 minuutin testiss\u00e4 (3.1 \u00b1 5.3 %, p=0.048). Aerobisessa kynnyksess\u00e4 ja py\u00f6r\u00e4ilyn taloudellisuudessa ei havaittu merkitsevi\u00e4 muutoksia miss\u00e4\u00e4n ryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4. Py\u00f6r\u00e4voimaharjoittelu n\u00e4ytt\u00e4isi olevan toimiva menetelm\u00e4 py\u00f6r\u00e4ilysuorituskyvyn kehitt\u00e4miseksi. Harjoittelu kehitti py\u00f6r\u00e4ilysuorituskyky\u00e4 paremmin kuin perinteinen YVK-harjoittelu tai pelkk\u00e4 kest\u00e4vyysharjoittelu. Kehitys tapahtui l\u00e4hinn\u00e4 anaerobisen suorituskyvyn ja irtiottokyvyn kehittymisen johdosta.
