T\u00e4m\u00e4 pro gradu- tutkielma on tehty tapaustutkimuksena kolmessa eri maassa toimivan ja noin 700 henkil\u00f6\u00e4 ty\u00f6llist\u00e4v\u00e4n organisaation toimeksiannosta. Sen tarkoituksena on selvitt\u00e4\u00e4, miten henkil\u00f6st\u00f6johtamisen tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n avulla voidaan edesauttaa laajamittaisen ja monikansallisen organisaatiomuutoksen toteuttamista, mit\u00e4 organisaatiomuutos tarkoittaa tietoj\u00e4rjestelmien kannalta sek\u00e4 pyrki\u00e4 avaamaan teknologian ja organisaation v\u00e4list\u00e4 suhdetta. Tutkielman teoreettisen viitekehyksen muodostavat organisaatiomuutokseen ja transformaatioon sek\u00e4 teknologian ja organisaation vuorovaikutukseen liittyv\u00e4t teoriat. Lis\u00e4ksi se k\u00e4sittelee liiketoiminnan ja informaatioteknologian strategista yhteenlinjausta sek\u00e4 henkil\u00f6st\u00f6johtamisen tietoj\u00e4rjestelmi\u00e4 koskevaa tutkimuskirjallisuutta. Tutkielman empiirinen osuus on toteutettu teemahaastatteluin kahdeksalle, tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6nottoprojektiin osallistuvalle case-organisaation ty\u00f6ntekij\u00e4lle. Teemahaastattelujen perustana toimii Leavittin timanttimalli, joka kuvaa organisaatiota nelj\u00e4n eri elementin, teknologian, rakenteen, teht\u00e4vien ja ihmisten muodostamana kokonaisuutena, jossa muutos yhdess\u00e4 elementeist\u00e4 vaikuttaa my\u00f6s kolmeen muuhun elementtiin. Kyseist\u00e4 mallia on k\u00e4ytetty kuvaamaan my\u00f6s tietoj\u00e4rjestelmiin liittyv\u00e4\u00e4 muutosta. Tutkimustulosten perusteella voidaan tunnistaa useita erilaisia tapoja, joilla henkil\u00f6st\u00f6johtamisen tietoj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n avulla voidaan edesauttaa organisaatiomuutosta. Empiirisen aineiston perusteella tunnistettiin teknologian vaikutus organisaation rakenteeseen, teht\u00e4viin ett\u00e4 ihmisiin. However, in the context of human resources management (HRM) systems it has not been as well acknowledged. This master's thesis is a case study that has been assigned by a business organization that operates in three different countries in Northern Europe and has approximately 700 employees. The aim of the study is to find out how an HRM system can promote the execution of a large-scale organizational transformation, what does organizational transformation mean in the context of information systems and what is the relationship between technology and organization. The theoretical framework of the study consists of theories that focus on organizational change or organizational transformation as well as theories that aim to explain the relations between technology and organization. Also, strategic alignment between business and information technology as well as theoretical basis of human resources and HRM systems are covered. The empirical part of the study is carried out by conducting focus interviews to 8 of the case organization\u2019s employees that participate in the implementation project of the HRM system. Leavitt's diamond model - that depicts organization consisting of four elements, technology, structure, tasks and people - is used as a basis for the focus interview structure. It is a model that has gained popularity among information systems science studies. Based on the results, several ways of how to benefit the execution of organizational transformation with the help of information systems can be determined. The impact of technology on the organization's structure, tasks and people were recognized in the analysis of the empirical material. Based on the results, also the impact of organizational change on information systems can be assessed.
