Joukkoistaminen on keino ratkaista organisatorisia ongelmia ohjaamalla ongelmat ulkoiselle joukolle avoimen kutsun muodossa hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4en Internet-teknologiaa. Joukkoistaminen koostuu ratkaistavasta ongelmasta, ongelman omaavasta osapuolesta, kyseisen ongelman ratkaisevasta v\u00e4kijoukosta sek\u00e4 eri osapuolet yhdist\u00e4v\u00e4st\u00e4, joukkoistamisen mahdollistavasta alustasta. Teknologisen kehityksen ansiosta joukkoistamisesta on tullut houkutteleva vaihtoehto aktualisoida yritysten aiemmin itse toteuttamia liiketoimintoja. Ohjelmistoteollisuus ei ole poikkeus ja t\u00e4m\u00e4n vuoksi joukkoistamista onkin k\u00e4ytetty viime vuosina my\u00f6s useissa ohjelmistokehityksen eri toiminnoissa. Yksi n\u00e4ist\u00e4 on ohjelmistotestaus. Jotta joukkoistaminen todella toimisi, ongelman ratkaiseva v\u00e4kijoukko on pystytt\u00e4v\u00e4 motivoimaan. Motivaatio on liikkeelle paneva voima. Ihmiset motivoituvat eri asioista ja yksil\u00f6n motivaatiotekij\u00e4t tietty\u00e4 toimintaa kohtaan voivat vaihdella ajan mittaan. J\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4adoptioon ja jatkuvaan k\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00f6n liittyv\u00e4 motivaatio on yksi tietoj\u00e4rjestelmien k\u00e4yt\u00f6n avaintekij\u00f6ist\u00e4.\nT\u00e4m\u00e4 pro gradu-tutkielma pyrkii kartoittamaan yksitt\u00e4isen k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4n motivaationaalisen matkan selvitt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 tietyn ohjelmistotestausj\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n k\u00e4yt\u00f6n taustalla vaikuttavat motivaatiotekij\u00e4t. Tutkimuksen p\u00e4\u00e4paino on j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n k\u00e4yt\u00f6n elinkaaren viimeisess\u00e4 vaiheessa - mik\u00e4 saa k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4n lopettamaan tietyn joukkoistamispalvelun k\u00e4yt\u00f6n - vaikkakin tutkielma kartoittaa yksil\u00f6n koko k\u00e4yt\u00f6n elinkaareen liittyv\u00e4t motivaatiotekij\u00e4t.\nTutkimus toteutettiin laadullisena, eksploratiivisena tutkimuksena k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en teemahaastatteluja empiirisen osion tiedonkeruumenetelm\u00e4n\u00e4. Tutkielman teoreettisena viitekehyksen\u00e4 k\u00e4ytettiin itseohjautuvuusteoriaa sek\u00e4 orgaanista integraatioteoriaa. Tutkimustulokset osoittavat, ett\u00e4 yksitt\u00e4isen k\u00e4ytt\u00e4j\u00e4n k\u00e4yt\u00f6n jatkamisp\u00e4\u00e4t\u00f6kseen vaikuttavat sek\u00e4 ulkoiset ett\u00e4 sis\u00e4iset motivaatiotekij\u00e4t ja n\u00e4m\u00e4 motivaatiotekij\u00e4t vaihtelevat j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n k\u00e4yt\u00f6n elinkaaren aikana. Crowdsourcing is the means to solve organizational problems by handing them out to an external crowd in an open call manner using Internet technology as predominant means. It consists of the problem to be solved, a party who has a problem to be solved, the crowd that is willing to solve the problem and an intermediating platform to orchestrate the crowdsourcing initiative. Because of technological development, crowdsourcing has become a tempting alternative to conduct different business activities previously carried out by the companies themselves. Software industry is not an exception, which is why crowdsourcing has been implemented in various software engineering activities in the recent years. One the activities is software testing. However, to make crowdsourcing truly working, the problem solving party must be motivated accordingly. Motivation is the driving force that makes people take actions. People are motivated by different things and the motivations an individual has towards certain activity, may vary over time. Motivation concerning initial and continued use are one of the key ingredients of information systems use.\nThis thesis strives to track down users\u2019 motivational journey by unravelling the underlying motivational factors that affect individual user\u2019s IS use behavior through a specific information system\u2019s usage life cycle in a software engineering context. The emphasis of the thesis is in the last stage of the usage life cycle \u2013 what makes individuals discontinue the use of a certain crowdsourced software engineering service, although the research tracks down the entire usage life cycle from adoption to termination.\nThe research was conducted as an exploratory study using qualitative approach and theme interviews matched with a theoretical framework that combines Self-Determination Theory and Organismic Integration Theory. The research results show that there are both extrinsic and intrinsic motivational factors that affect individual user\u2019s decision to continue. Additionally, the results point out that the motivational factors vary over the usage life cycle and in fact, some extrinsically originated motivational factors are dwarfed by intrinsically originated motivational factors in terms of their importance regarding use continuance.
