Anturisolenoidia k\u00e4ytettiin osana elektronisen oskillaattorin\nv\u00e4r\u00e4htelij\u00e4\u00e4, jolloin induktanssin muutos aiheutti vastaavan muutoksen oskillaattorin taajuudessa. T\u00e4t\u00e4 taajuusmuutosta havainnoitiin Beat Frequency Oscillator\n-piirill\u00e4 (BFO), joka vertaa anturin oskillaattorin taajuutta identtisen referenssioskillaattorin vakiona pysyv\u00e4\u00e4n taajuuteen, tuottaen signaalin, jonka taajuus vastaa\nn\u00e4iden erotusta. Menetelm\u00e4 mahdollistaa anturioskillaattorin pientenkin taajuusmuutosten havaitsemisen erotusoskillaattorin taajuusmuutosten ollessa t\u00e4h\u00e4n suoraan\nverrannollisia.\n\nTutkielmassa esitelty prototyyppi kehitettiin parantamaan aikaisemmin samaan tarkoitukseen valmistetun, mutta erilaisella havaintomenetelm\u00e4\u00e4n perustuvan laitteen\n\n\n\nherkkyytt\u00e4, k\u00e4ytett\u00e4vyytt\u00e4 ja h\u00e4iri\u00f6nsietoa. Prototyypin merkitt\u00e4vimm\u00e4t parannukset aiempaan n\u00e4hden olivatkin oskillaattorien komponenttien, erityisesti niiss\u00e4\nk\u00e4ytettyjen solenoidien suojaus ymp\u00e4rist\u00f6n kanssa tapahtuvan kapasitiivisen kytkeytymisen aiheuttamalta h\u00e4iri\u00f6signaalilta, sek\u00e4 signaalin havainnoimiseen k\u00e4ytettyjen\nlogaritmisten menetelmien mahdollistama herkkyyden parantaminen ja ep\u00e4lineaarisen taajuuserovasteen linearisointi. Kuitenkin nyt valmistettuun prototyyppiin j\u00e4i\nmy\u00f6s joitain parannuskohteita.
