Kuvaajien tulkintataidot eiv\u00e4t kuitenkaan ole oppilaille itsest\u00e4\u00e4nselvyys vaan monilla esiintyy virhek\u00e4sityksi\u00e4. N\u00e4m\u00e4 virhek\u00e4sitykset ohjaavat oppilaan k\u00e4yt\u00f6st\u00e4, kun h\u00e4n tulkitsee kuvaajaa. Monesti ne saavat oppilaan ymm\u00e4rt\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4n tai ratkaisemaan teht\u00e4v\u00e4n v\u00e4\u00e4rin.\nT\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa m\u00e4\u00e4ritettiin virhek\u00e4sitysten esiintymist\u00e4 lukion toisen vuoden opiskelijoiden, kun he ty\u00f6st\u00e4v\u00e4t kinematiikan kuvaajia tietokoneella. Teht\u00e4v\u00e4t perustuivat TUG-K teht\u00e4v\u00e4patterin uusimpaan versioon [3] ja mittaukset suoritettiin k\u00e4ytt\u00e4m\u00e4ll\u00e4 SMI RED250mobile [8] silm\u00e4nliikekameraa. Kaikkiaan 35 oppilasta osallistui mittauksiin er\u00e4\u00e4ss\u00e4 keskisuomalaisessa lukiossa. Mittaukset suoritettiin kahdessa ryhm\u00e4ss\u00e4 siten, ett\u00e4 eri ryhmien teht\u00e4v\u00e4j\u00e4rjestys oli muutettu, jotta voitiin tuottaa lis\u00e4\u00e4 tietoa virhek\u00e4sitysten esiintymisest\u00e4. Saatu data analysoitiin kvantitatiivisesti ja kvalitatiivisesti. \nKvantitatiivinen analyysi suoritettiin laskemalla vastausprosentit ja vastausm\u00e4\u00e4rien Khiin-neli\u00f6testien tulokset. Lis\u00e4ksi analysoitaviin kuviin muodostettiin mielenkiinnon alueet (area of interest), jotka tukivat virhek\u00e4sitysten tai oikeiden tulkintatapojen ohjaamia katselyk\u00e4yt\u00f6ksen malleja. Alueet analysoitiin tilastollisesti k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en Poissonin jakaumaa. Kvalitatiivinen analyysi suoritettiin muodostamalla datasta l\u00e4mp\u00f6karttoja, joiden avulla tutkittiin oppilaiden katseluk\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymist\u00e4. Kvalitatiivisell\u00e4 analyysill\u00e4 tutkittiin lis\u00e4ksi oppilaiden virhek\u00e4sitysten esiintymisen johdonmukaisuutta.\nTutkimuksessa huomattiin, ett\u00e4 teht\u00e4vien tekoj\u00e4rjestyksell\u00e4 on huomattava vaikutus virhek\u00e4sitysten esiintymiseen. Lis\u00e4ksi n\u00e4htiin, ett\u00e4 virhek\u00e4sitysten mukainen katseluk\u00e4yt\u00f6s johtaa v\u00e4\u00e4riin vastauksiin. Suurin osa oppilaista oli johdonmukainen oman vastausk\u00e4ytt\u00e4ytymisens\u00e4 suhteen ja lis\u00e4ksi he olivat tietoisia omasta k\u00e4yt\u00f6ksest\u00e4\u00e4n.", "language": "fi", "element": "description", "qualifier": "abstract", "schema": "dc"}, {"key": "dc.description.abstract", "value": "Graphs are often used as support in teaching physics but not all students have the skills to use them. Instead, many student display misinterpretions when studying graphs. These misinterpretions direct the behavior of the student learning from graphs and in many cases lead to misunderstandings and faulty problem solving.\nIn this study, misinterpretions of second year upper secondary school students were noted as they were solving kinematic assignments with graphs on a computer. The assignments were based on TUG-K tests [3] newest version and the measurements were taken using SMI RED250mobile [8] eye movement camera. In total 35 students participated in the measurements which were taken in an average upper secondary school in the middle of Finland. Students were divided into two groups so that the order of questions was different for each group. This was done in order to get more information on the appearance of misinterpretions. The data collected was analysed both quantitatively and qualitatively.\nThe quantitative analysis was performed by calculating the amounts of right answers and by using the khii-squared test for those amounts. In addition, areas of interest were formed for the graphs. Some areas were crusial for using misinterpretions and some for correct problem solving. The areas were statistically analysed using Poisson distribution. Qualitative analysis was performed by produsing heat maps from the data, and using those maps to study eye movement behavior. Consistensy of students\u2019 answers was also studied qvalitatively.\nIt was noticed that the order of questions had a significant effect on the appearance of misinterpretions. Additionally it was seen that the use of misinterpretions lead to incorrect answers.
