Currently Facebook is the world\u2019s most popular social media platform, but many of the companies still do not get the most out of the platform. The purpose of this thesis is to clarify the benefits of Facebook in both customer service and marketing. The thesis reveals that Facebook offers companies an excellent channel for active discussions with customers, both via Messenger Chat application and through the updates companies do on their page. From marketing point of view, it is clear that the platform can also be used as a cost-effective marketing tool whose main advantages are effective targeted advertisement and the possibility for updates to go spread like viral phenomenon. In the thesis, marketing is seen through the aspect of consumer marketing. In the light of the results of this study, Facebook can be seen as a very sensible solution for both customer service and marketing actions to any large or small businesses.
