Teknologian kehityksen my\u00f6t\u00e4, my\u00f6s teko\u00e4lyn kehitys- ja tutkimusty\u00f6 lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyy jatkuvasti. Teknologiaan liitett\u00e4vien asenteiden ja odotusten kriittisyydest\u00e4 huolimatta, niit\u00e4 on tutkittu hyvin v\u00e4h\u00e4n. T\u00e4ss\u00e4 tutkimuksessa asenteet ja odotukset rajattiin koskemaan urheilu- ja liikunta-alalla lis\u00e4\u00e4ntyvi\u00e4 teko\u00e4ly-teknologioita. Esimerkkein\u00e4 kehittyvist\u00e4 teko\u00e4lyteknologioista hy\u00f6dynnettiin Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopiston ja IBM Watsonin kehitt\u00e4mi\u00e4 k\u00e4ytt\u00f6tapauksia. Kirjallisuuskatsauksen pohjalta luotiin ymm\u00e4rrys teko\u00e4lyst\u00e4 sek\u00e4 sen kehityksen syist\u00e4 ja perusteltiin aiherajaus. T\u00e4m\u00e4n kautta tutustuttiin kirjallisuuteen asenteista ja odotuksista teknologiaa kohtaan. Kirjallisuudessa luotiin laajempi katsaus teko\u00e4lyteknologioihin terveydenseurannassa ja urheilussa. Empiirinen, teemahaastattelumenetelm\u00e4ll\u00e4 ker\u00e4tty aineisto rajattiin koskemaan liikunta-alalla aktiivisesti toimivia kilpaurheilu- ja valmennuspuolen yksil\u00f6edustajia. Empiirinen osio toteutettiin liikunta-alalla vaikuttavien henkil\u00f6iden kanssa tehtyjen haastatteluiden avulla. Saatuja vastauksia tulkittiin teemoittelun avulla. Negatiiviset asenteet ja odotukset teko\u00e4lyteknologioiden lis\u00e4\u00e4ntymisess\u00e4 liittyi tietoturvaan, yksityisyyteen sek\u00e4 kaupallistumiseen. Erityisesti tietojen kalastelu, sek\u00e4 jatkuva seurannan tarve n\u00e4htiin yksityisyytt\u00e4 rajoittavina tekij\u00f6in\u00e4. Kaupallistumisen koettiin laskevan luottamusta l\u00f6yt\u00e4\u00e4 luotettavimmat ratkaisut, ja vaikuttavan hintojen nousuun. Asenteet sensoreita ja puettavaa teknologiaa kohtaan olivat p\u00e4\u00e4osin positiivisia, etenkin sairauksien seurannassa. Teko\u00e4lyn eniten k\u00e4ytetyimmist\u00e4 kyvykkyyksist\u00e4, koneoppiminen ja tiedon k\u00e4sittely koettiin hy\u00f6dyllisiksi ja n\u00e4htiin tarvetta niiden k\u00e4yt\u00f6lle my\u00f6s kilpaurheilussa ja terveydenseurannassa. Automatisaatio ja luonnollisen kielen prosessointi sen sijaan ei her\u00e4tt\u00e4nyt yht\u00e4 suurta luottamusta. Tutkielman keskeisimp\u00e4n\u00e4 havaintoina oli se, ett\u00e4 teko\u00e4ly\u00e4 ei hy\u00f6dynnet\u00e4 viel\u00e4 kovin paljoa kilpaurheilussa, eik\u00e4 sen uskota tuovan mit\u00e4\u00e4n merkitt\u00e4vi\u00e4 hy\u00f6tyj\u00e4 tulevaisuudessakaan. Artificial intelligence technologies have evolved over time to a point where they are constantly researched and developed even further. Both the attitudes and expectations towards technology are extremely relevant topics that should be thoroughly investigated, yet they still are not widely researched. In this paper, attitudes and expectations were limited to artificial intelligence development in sports and healthcare. University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 and IBM Watson created case-examples that were used as examples of developed artificial intelligence. The current study was supported by an extensive literature review. Findings of the past literature allowed the researcher to make conclusions about what artificial intelligence is, and why it has been rapidly developing over the past years. In addition, some studies of attitudes and expectations about technology were reviewed. The empirical part of this research was executed through qualitative interviews, which were conducted among individuals in the sports industry. The answers were decoded by finding themes that consistently recurred during the interviews. Threats were linked to information security, privacy and commercialization. Especially phishing and round the clock monitoring were considered too restrictive. Commercialization was linked to increased costs and furthermore, it was found that commercialization might adversely affect finding the most reliable solutions. Sensors and wearable technology were considered highly effective, especially in the healthcare field. From the most popular capabilities of artificial intelligence, machine learning and intelligent data processing were seen the most effective, and it is likely that they will both be valuable in the future. Neither automatization nor natural language processing showed much promise. The main finding concerning the use of artificial intelligence powered mHealth solutions, was that it does not seem to provide any superior competitive advantage in the competitive sports industry.
