Tutkielma on toteutettu laadullisena tapaustutkimuksena, jonka kohdeorganisaationa on julkisia kuntoutus- ja tukipalveluita erityst\u00e4 tukea tarvitseville henkil\u00f6ille ja heid\u00e4n l\u00e4heisilleen tuottava Vaalijalan kuntayhtym\u00e4. Aineisto on ker\u00e4tty teemahaastattelujen kautta kev\u00e4tkes\u00e4ll\u00e4 2018 haastattelemalla organisaation j\u00e4seni\u00e4 kolmella eri organisaation tasolla: ylemm\u00e4n johdon, l\u00e4hiesimiesten sek\u00e4 ilman esimiesasemaa toimivien ty\u00f6ntekij\u00f6iden tasolla. Aineisto on analysoitu sosiaaliseen konstruktionismin mukaiseen kielik\u00e4sitykseen pohjaavan diskurssianalyysin keinoin.\n\nTy\u00f6 on varsin erottamaton osa yksil\u00f6n el\u00e4m\u00e4\u00e4; ty\u00f6hyvinvoinnin vaikutukset heijastuvat ty\u00f6tekij\u00e4n hyvinvoinnin ja el\u00e4m\u00e4nlaadun kokonaisuuteen. Ty\u00f6hyvinvoinnilla on merkitt\u00e4vi\u00e4 vaikutuksia yksil\u00f6n kokonaisvaltaisen hyvinvoinnin ohella my\u00f6s niin organisaatioiden toiminnan tulokseen ja kilpailukykyyn kuin my\u00f6s kansantalouden tasolla pidempin\u00e4 ty\u00f6urina ja my\u00f6h\u00e4isemp\u00e4n\u00e4 el\u00e4kkeelle siirtymisen\u00e4. Ty\u00f6pahoinvoinnin ja -tyytym\u00e4tt\u00f6myyden kustannukset sek\u00e4 organisaatioille ett\u00e4 yhteiskunnalle voivat olla merkitt\u00e4vi\u00e4. Ty\u00f6hyvinvoinnin merkityst\u00e4 ei mill\u00e4\u00e4n tasolla voi v\u00e4h\u00e4tell\u00e4.\n\nAineiston analyysin perusteella esiin nousi kuusi ty\u00f6hyvinvoinnin diskurssia: tasapainon, arjen, k\u00e4\u00e4nt\u00f6puolen, yhteis\u00f6n, esimiesty\u00f6n sek\u00e4 organisaation diskurssit. Diskursseissa ei esiintynyt vaihtelua eri haastatteluryhmien v\u00e4lill\u00e4, vaan vaihtelua esiintyi enemm\u00e4nkin eri yksik\u00f6ist\u00e4 tulevien haastateltavien puheissa, mik\u00e4 osoittaa ty\u00f6hyvinvoinnin rakentumista pitk\u00e4lti yksikk\u00f6jen sis\u00e4isiss\u00e4 sosiaalisissa todellisuuksissa.
