Syd\u00e4nliitossa luonnossa liikkumisen teema tulee vahvasti esiin vuonna 2018, ja syd\u00e4nterveyden edist\u00e4misess\u00e4 mielen hyvinvointi on nostettu yhdeksi painopisteist\u00e4. T\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 Syd\u00e4nliiton j\u00e4senten luontoliikuntatottumuksia ja heid\u00e4n kokemuksiaan luontoliikunnan hyvinvointivaikutuksista. Lis\u00e4ksi arvioitiin heid\u00e4n positiivista mielenterveytt\u00e4\u00e4n ja sen yhteytt\u00e4 taustatekij\u00f6ihin ja terveystekij\u00f6ihin sek\u00e4 luontoliikunnan harrastamiseen.\n\nTutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin s\u00e4hk\u00f6isell\u00e4 kyselylomakkeella. Tutkimukseen vastasi 413 henkil\u00f6\u00e4, ja vastausprosentiksi saatiin 31 %. Tutkimusaineiston analysoinnissa k\u00e4ytettiin IBM SPSS Statistics (versio 24) -ohjelmaa. Positiivisen mielenterveyden ja taustatekij\u00f6iden, terveystekij\u00f6iden sek\u00e4 luontoliikunta-aktiivisuuden v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 riippuvuuksia analysoitiin ristiintaulukoinnilla ja tilastollista merkitsevyytt\u00e4 Khiin neli\u00f6testill\u00e4, t-testill\u00e4 ja yksisuuntaisella varianssianalyysill\u00e4 (ANOVA). Kvalitatiivisessa osuudessa tarkasteltiin kokemuksia luontoliikunnan hyvinvointivaikutuksista sis\u00e4ll\u00f6nanalyysin avulla.\n\nTutkimukseen vastanneista luontoliikuntaa harrasti useammin kuin kerran viikossa 78 % kes\u00e4aikaan ja 63 % talviaikaan. Tyypillisimmin luontoliikuntasuoritus kesti 30-60 min. Suosituimmat luontoliikuntamuodot olivat k\u00e4vely tai sauvak\u00e4vely, marjastus, sienestys tai muu luonnontuotteiden ker\u00e4ily ja py\u00f6r\u00e4ily. Luontoliikunnalla koettiin olevan fyysisi\u00e4, psyykkisi\u00e4 ja sosiaalisia hyvinvointivaikutuksia. Positiivisen mielenterveyden keskiarvo oli 25,85 (asteikko 7-35). Vastaajista 11 %:lla oli korkea, 78 %:lla kohtalainen ja 12 %:lla matala positiivinen mielenterveys. Positiivinen mielenterveys oli korkeampi naisilla, paljon luontoliikuntaa harrastavilla, hyv\u00e4n terveydentilan ja fyysisen kunnon omaavilla sek\u00e4 niill\u00e4, joilla ei ollut syd\u00e4n- tai verisuonisairautta. \n\nT\u00e4m\u00e4n tutkimuksen perusteella voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 Syd\u00e4nliiton j\u00e4senet olivat aktiivisia luonnossa liikkujia. Luontoliikunta koettiin kokonaisvaltaista hyvinvointia lis\u00e4\u00e4v\u00e4ksi. Luontoliikunnan elvytt\u00e4v\u00e4 ja mielen hyvinvointia kohentava vaikutus korostui. Positiivisen mielenterveyden vahvistamiseen tulee kiinnitt\u00e4\u00e4 huomiota syd\u00e4n- ja verisuonisairauksien ennaltaehk\u00e4isyss\u00e4 ja sairastuneiden hoidossa. University of Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4, Faculty of Sport and Health Sciences, Health education and health promotion, Master\u00b4s thesis, 56 pp., 4 appendices. \n Cardiovascular diseases are one of the most common diseases in Finland and their public health and economic significance is considerable. The outdoor recreation theme is strongly highlighted in 2018 in the Heart Association, and in promoting heart health mental well-being has become one of the focal points. The aim of this study was to find out about the green exercise habits of members of the Heart Association and their experiences of the wellbeing effects of green exercise. In addition, were evaluated their positive mental health and it\u00b4s connection to background factors and health factors as well as their green exercise activity.\n\nThe data was collected by an electronic questionnaire. The survey was answered by 413 people and the response rate was 31%. The data was analyzed by using IBM SPSS Statistics (version 24) software. Relationships between positive mental health and background factors, health factors, and green exercise activity were analyzed by using cross tabulation and statistical significance was tested by using Chi-square test, t-test, and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA). The qualitative section looked at experiences of the wellbeing effects of green exercise thought content analysis.\n \nMore than once a week, 78% of the respondents were exercising in natural environment during the summertime and 63% of the respondents in the wintertime. Typically, the green exercise performance lasted 30-60 min. The most popular forms of green exercise were walking or Nordic walking, berry picking, mushroom picking or other gathering of natural products and cycling. The green exercise seemed to have physical, psychological and social wellbeing effects. The average positive mental health was 25.85 (scale 7-35). Of the respondents, 11% had high, 78% moderate and 12% low positive mental health. Positive mental health was better for women, people with having good health and physical condition, those who did not have cardiovascular disease and were active green exercise enthusiasts.\n\nAccording to this study it can be said the members of the Heart Association were active green exercise enthusiasts. The green exercise was experienced to increase holistic wellfare. The restorative effect and effect of increasing the mental wellbeing was emphasized. Attention should be paid to strengthen positive mental health in the prevention and treatment of cardiovascular disease.
