Lis\u00e4ksi tarkasteltiin, miss\u00e4 m\u00e4\u00e4rin suoriutumista Nopean sarjallisen nime\u00e4misen testin osateht\u00e4viss\u00e4 (AN, OC, RAS) selitt\u00e4\u00e4 Merkkikokeella arvioitu ei-kielellinen prosessointinopeus eri alaryhmiss\u00e4, kun sukupuoli on huomioitu. Tutkittavina oli 853 lasta (poikia n = 565, tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 n = 288), jotka olivat i\u00e4lt\u00e4\u00e4n 7\u201315,5-vuotiaita. Tutkittavat olivat tulleet Niilo M\u00e4ki Instituutin ja Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n Perheneuvolan yll\u00e4pit\u00e4m\u00e4n Lastentutkimusklinikan asiakkaiksi tutkimuksiin oppimisvaikeuksien vuoksi. Tutkimuksen tarkoituksena on lis\u00e4t\u00e4 tietoa eri alaryhmiin kuuluvien lasten suoriutumisesta sukupuolittain prosessointinopeutta mittaavissa kielellisiss\u00e4 ja ei-kielellisiss\u00e4 neuropsykologisissa testeiss\u00e4. Lasten suoriutumista kielellist\u00e4 prosessointinopeutta vaativassa teht\u00e4v\u00e4ss\u00e4 mitattiin Nopean sarjallisen nime\u00e4misen testill\u00e4 (RAN) ja ei-kielellist\u00e4 prosessointinopeutta WISCin Merkkikoe-teht\u00e4v\u00e4ll\u00e4. RANin kolmen teht\u00e4v\u00e4tyypin (AN, OC, RAS) suoritusaikoja ja virheit\u00e4 sek\u00e4 WISCin Merkkikokeen suoritusaikoja oppimisvaikeusryhmiss\u00e4 sukupuolittain tarkasteltiin ANOVAlla. Prosessointinopeuden selitysosuutta RANin eri osateht\u00e4viss\u00e4 Merkkikokeella arvioituna tarkasteltiin ensin Pearsonin korrelaatiokertoimella ja tarkemmat tarkastelut suoritettiin ANCOVAlla. Tutkimuksessa havaittiin, ett\u00e4 pojat suoriutuivat tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 hitaammin OC-teht\u00e4v\u00e4ss\u00e4 ja Merkkikokeessa oppimisvaikeusryhm\u00e4st\u00e4 riippumatta. RAS-teht\u00e4v\u00e4ss\u00e4 poikien hitaus tuli esiin etenkin LV- ja MV-ryhmiss\u00e4. RANin virheiden osalta LV-ryhm\u00e4n tyt\u00f6t tekiv\u00e4t hieman muita enemm\u00e4n virheit\u00e4 OC- ja RAS-teht\u00e4viss\u00e4 pysyen kuitenkin ik\u00e4tasolla virheiden m\u00e4\u00e4r\u00e4ss\u00e4. Merkkikokeella arvioidulla ei-kielellisell\u00e4 prosessointinopeudella oli yhteys RANin eri osateht\u00e4viss\u00e4 suoriutumiseen, mutta vain LV- ja MV-ryhmiss\u00e4. Sukupuolella ei ollut tilastollisesti merkitsev\u00e4\u00e4 yhteytt\u00e4 siihen, miten paljon Merkkikoe selitti RAN-osateht\u00e4viss\u00e4 suoriutumista. Ei-kielellisell\u00e4 prosessointinopeudella oli siis vaikutusta RANin osateht\u00e4viss\u00e4 suoriutumiseen, mutta vain LV- ja MV-ryhmiss\u00e4. Kokonaisuudessaan ei-kielellisen prosessointinopeuden osuus RAN-osateht\u00e4viss\u00e4 suoriutumisessa j\u00e4i kuitenkin pieneksi. Tulosten pohjalta voidaan todeta, ett\u00e4 prosessointinopeuden teht\u00e4viss\u00e4 suoriutumisessa on sukupuolten v\u00e4lisi\u00e4 eroja siten, ett\u00e4 pojat ovat tytt\u00f6j\u00e4 hitaampia, mutta tyt\u00f6t tekev\u00e4t poikia enemm\u00e4n virheit\u00e4. Ei-kielellisell\u00e4 prosessointinopeudella on my\u00f6s vaikutusta RANin osateht\u00e4viss\u00e4 suoriutumiseen LV- ja MV-ryhmiss\u00e4. Additionally, it was investigated to what extent non-verbal processing speed assessed by Coding explains the performance on the subtasks (AN, OC, RAS) of the Rapid Automatized Naming test in different subgroups when gender is controlled. 853 children (boys n = 565, girls n = 288) aged 7\u201315,5 years were studied. The children had come to the Child Research Clinic supported by Niilo M\u00e4ki Institute and the Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4 Family Counceling Center for evaluation because of learning disabilities. The purpose of this study is to learn about the performance of girls and boys in different learning disability subgroups on verbal and non-verbal neuropsychological tests requiring processing speed. The children's performance on the verbal processing speed task was measured by Rapid Automatized Naming (RAN) test and on the non-verbal processing speed task by WISC Coding task. ANOVA was used to investigate boys' and girls' performance times and errors on three different RAN subtasks (AN, OC, RAS) and the performance times on WISC Coding task in different learning disability subgroups. First, Pearson correlation coefficient was used to examine how much processing speed assessed by Coding explained of the variance of the performance on RAN subtasks, and further investigations were performed on ANCOVA. The results showed that boys performed slower than girls on the OC task and Coding task despite the learning disability subgroup. On the RAS task, boys performed slower especially in RD and MD groups. Girls in RD group made slightly more errors on the OC and RAS tasks compared to boys or girls in other subgroups. However, girls still performed within the expectations for their age in making errors. Non-verbal processing speed assessed by Coding was connected to the performance on different RAN subtasks but only in RD and MD groups. Gender was not a statistically significant factor in how much Coding accounted for the performance on RAN subtasks. Therefore, non-verbal processing speed affected the performance on RAN subtasks but only in RD and MD groups, and the percentage of non-verbal processing speed in the performance on RAN subtasks was small. In conclusion, there are gender differences on the performance of processing speed tasks; boys seem to perform slower than girls, but girls make more errors. Also, non-verbal processing speed affected the performance on RAN subtasks in RD and MD groups.
