Degradaatio voi ilmet\u00e4 paneeleissa monenlaisina vikoina ja ongelmina ja ty\u00f6ss\u00e4ni tutkin kuinka j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n degradaatio pitk\u00e4ll\u00e4 aikav\u00e4lill\u00e4 vaikuttaa sen suorituskykyyn. Koska aurinkos\u00e4hk\u00f6j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n takaisinmaksukyky on suoraan sidonnainen sen suorituskykyyn, olen my\u00f6s kiinnostunut degradaation vaikutuksista takaisinmaksuaikaan.\nTutkimuskohteena toimii Saarij\u00e4rven keskuskoululle asennettu HIT-paneeleita hy\u00f6dynt\u00e4v\u00e4 aurinkos\u00e4hk\u00f6j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4, jolta k\u00e4yt\u00f6ss\u00e4ni oli data vuosilta 2005-2017. Tutkin j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n degradaatiota analysoimalla pitk\u00e4n aikav\u00e4lin muutoksia paneeliston suorituskyvyn suhdeluvussa (Performance Ratio, PR), joka mittaa todellisen ja ideaalisen energiantuotannon suhdetta. Tavanomaisen PR:n lis\u00e4ksi suoritin rinnalla vastaavan analyysin s\u00e4\u00e4korjatulla PR:ll\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi simuloin degradaatiosta johtuvan tehonlaskun vaikutusta j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n kannattavuuteen. Vertailun vuoksi vastaava takaisinmaksusimulaatio tehtiin my\u00f6s Vattenfallin L -j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4lle k\u00e4ytt\u00e4en sen teknisi\u00e4 tietoja ja Saarij\u00e4rven keskuskoulun aurinkos\u00e4hk\u00f6j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n Auringon s\u00e4teilyintensiteetin dataa.\nLasketut degradaatiot Saarij\u00e4rven keskuskoulun j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4lle ovat v\u00e4lill\u00e4 0,4\u20130,8 % vuodessa. Vuoden 2005 siistityst\u00e4 datasta laskettu j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n suorituskyvyn suhdeluku on noin 0,93. Degradaatio vaikuttaa takaisinmaksuaikaan vuosilla, vaikkakin simulaatioista k\u00e4vi ilmi Saarij\u00e4rven keskuskoulun j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n taloudellisen kannattavuuden mahdottomuus. Modernimmalle Vattenfallin L -j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4lle sen sijaan simulaatioiden mukaan degradaatio voi olla ratkaisevassa roolissa j\u00e4rjestelm\u00e4n taloudellisen kannattavuuden saavuttamisessa sen elini\u00e4n aikana. Koska takaisinmaksuun vaikuttaa muun muassa s\u00e4hk\u00f6n hinnan ja inflaation vaihtelut, on takaisinmaksun ennustaminen vaikeaa. In this thesis I investigate the long term effects of degradation on the performance of a solar power system. The performance of a solar power system is linked, through produced electricity, with it\u2019s capacity to give out returns on investment. I\u2019m interested in the effects of degradation on these returns.\nThe subject of the follow-up study for this thesis was the solar power system installed on the roof of Saarij\u00e4rvi\u2019s central school. The system uses HIT-panel technology and the data available was from 2005\u20132017. I investigated the system\u2019s degradation through performance ratio (PR) and weather corrected performance ratio. I investigated the effects of degradation on returns on investment through simulations. The simulations were ran for follow-up study\u2019s subject as well as the Vattenfall L -system. The simulations ran for the Vattenfall L -system were purely theoretical and used Saarij\u00e4rvi\u2019s central school\u2019s system\u2019s measured radiant intensity of the Sun.\nThe calculated degradation rates for Saarij\u00e4rvi\u2019s central school\u2019s system were between 0,4\u20130,8 % per year. The calculated PR from the filtered data for the year 2005 was approximately 0,93. The return on investment simulations showed the impossibility of Saarij\u00e4rvi\u2019s cetral school\u2019s system economic viability. The simulations on Vattenfall\u2019s L -systems yielded results in which degradation had a key role in the economic viability of the system. Due to multiple unknowns, precise prediction of the economic viability is difficult.
