Liikuntatieteellinen tiedekunta, Jyv\u00e4skyl\u00e4n yliopisto, fysioterapian pro gradu -tutkielma, 53 s., 5 liitett\u00e4. \nTutkimuksen tarkoituksena oli selvitt\u00e4\u00e4 vapaan sivistysty\u00f6n andragogista opettajuutta. Tutkimuskysymyksin\u00e4 olivat, 1. onko vapaan sivistysty\u00f6n opettajan i\u00e4ll\u00e4, koulutustaustalla, ty\u00f6kokemuksella ja opetustaustalla yhteytt\u00e4 opettajan asenteisiin ja opetuksellisiin n\u00e4kemyksiin sek\u00e4 2. mitk\u00e4 andragogiset osa-alueet painottuvat andragogisen vapaan sivistysty\u00f6n opettajan ty\u00f6ss\u00e4. Lis\u00e4ksi selvitettiin onko suomalaisten ja yhdysvaltalaisten andragogoisten osaamisfaktoreiden v\u00e4lill\u00e4 eroa.\nTutkimusaineisto ker\u00e4ttiin Suomen vapaan sivistysty\u00f6n opettajilta (n=759) s\u00e4hk\u00f6isell\u00e4 45 v\u00e4itt\u00e4m\u00e4n IPI- (Instructional Perspectives Inventory) kyselylomakkeella (Henschke 1989), vuonna 2016. Tutkimukseen vastasi 109 (vastausprosentti 14,4%) vapaan sivistysty\u00f6n opettajaa, jotka arvioivat opetuksellisia n\u00e4kemyksi\u00e4\u00e4n ja opetuksellisia asenteitaan 4-portaisen kyselylomakkeen avulla. Tutkimusaineisto analysoitiin kahdessa vaiheessa, ensimm\u00e4isess\u00e4 vaiheessa alkuper\u00e4isen kyselylomakkeen mukaisilla faktoreilla, jolloin faktorit nimettiin yhdysvaltalaisiksi faktoreiksi. Toisessa vaiheessa aineisto analysoitiin uudestaan ja saatu informaatio tiivistettiin faktorianalyysill\u00e4 pakotetusti seitsem\u00e4\u00e4n faktoriin 1. opettajan empatia oppijoita kohtaan, 2. opettajan turhautuminen, 3. opettaja luottaa oppijoihin ja rohkaisee heit\u00e4, 4. opetusmenetelm\u00e4t, 5. opetustekniikat, 6. opettajakeskeinen opettaminen ja 7. opettaja sitouttaa oppijat tavoitteisiin. N\u00e4m\u00e4 faktorit nimettiin suomalaisiksi faktoreiksi erottautumaan alkuper\u00e4isist\u00e4 faktoreista. Faktoreiden eri osa-alueita verrattiin toisiinsa niiden keskiarvotulosten perusteella. Opettajien koulutustaustaa, ik\u00e4\u00e4, ty\u00f6- ja opetuskokemusta suhteessa faktoreihin tutkittiin Pearsonin korrelaatiokertoimen avulla. T\u00e4m\u00e4n j\u00e4lkeen, otoskoon pienuuden vuoksi, taustamuuttujien yhteyksi\u00e4 verrattiin opettajuuden eri osa-alueisiin korrelaatiokertoimien avulla.\nSuomalaisilla andragogeilla ik\u00e4 ja ty\u00f6kokemus olivat yhteydess\u00e4 siihen, ett\u00e4 mit\u00e4 vanhempi opettajan oli ja mit\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n h\u00e4nell\u00e4 oli ty\u00f6kokemusta, sit\u00e4 empaattisempi h\u00e4n oli oppijoita kohtaan. Suomalaisten faktoreiden osa-alueista painottui eniten opettajan \u201dluottamus oppijoita kohtaan\u201d ja v\u00e4hiten \u201dopettajan turhautuminen oppijoihin\u201d. Vastaavasti yhdysvaltalaisten faktoreiden osa-alueista painottui eniten \u201dopettajan luottamus oppijoihin\u201d ja v\u00e4hiten \u201dopettajan v\u00e4linpit\u00e4m\u00e4tt\u00f6myys oppijoita kohtaan\u201d. Yhdysvaltalaisista faktoreista t\u00e4rkeimmiksi tekij\u00f6iksi nousivat opettajan ik\u00e4 ja ty\u00f6kokemus. Mit\u00e4 vanhempi ja mit\u00e4 pidempi ty\u00f6kokemus opettajalla oli, sit\u00e4 empaattisempi h\u00e4n oli ja sit\u00e4 enemm\u00e4n h\u00e4n luotti oppijoihin ja piti heit\u00e4 ainutlaatuisina. Suomalaisten faktoreiden taustamuuttujien vertailussa ik\u00e4 ja ty\u00f6kokemus olivat yhteydess\u00e4 opettajan empaattisuuteen ja siihen kuinka h\u00e4n luotti oppijoihin. Yhdysvaltalaisten faktoreiden taustamuuttujien vertailussa ik\u00e4 ja koulutustausta olivat yhteydess\u00e4 opettajan empaattisuuteen ja luottamukseen oppijoita kohtaan sek\u00e4 miten ainutlaatuisena h\u00e4n piti oppijoita. \nVanhempien opettajien luottamus ja empatia oppijoita kohtaan painottui sek\u00e4 suomalaisten ett\u00e4 yhdysvaltalaisten faktoreiden mukaan opettajan ty\u00f6ss\u00e4. Faktoreiden taustamuuttujien tarkastelu osoitti suomalaisen ja yhdysvaltalaisen koulutuskulttuurin erot. The research questions were whether there is any connection between the\nage, educational background, work experience and teaching experience to their attitudes and\neducational views, and also, which areas of andragogy are prominent in the work of liberal\nadult educators. Furthermore, the differences in the educational views of andragogical liberal\nadult educators in Finland and the USA were studied.\nThe data was gathered in 2016 from the liberal adult educators (n=759) using electronical\nInstructional Perspective Inventory questionnaire (Henschke 1989). 109 liberal adult educators\nanswered the questionnaire (Responcerate14.4%), the educators evaluated their educational\nviews and attitudes using a questionnaire with 4 Stages/grades. The data was analyzed\nin two different phases. In the first phase analyze was made with the factors used in the original\nquestionnaire. The original factors were named as the American factors. In the second\nphase the data was analyzed again and the gathered information was summarized with the\nfactor analysis method into seven factors. Seven factors were derived from the data using factor\nanalysis 1. empathy of the educator towards the students 2. frustration of the educator 3.\neducator trusts the students and encourages the students 4. methods of teaching 5. techniques\nof teaching 6. teacher centered-teaching 7. teacher committed student to the Goals. These seven\nfactors were named as Finnish factors to deviate from the original factors. The different\nfactors were also compared by their mean measurements. The educators educational background,\nage, work experience and teacher experience compared to the factors were studied by\nPearson correlation multipliers. Then, because of limited sample size, the comparison of the\nbackground variables in relation to educational fields was measured by correlation multipliers.\nAmong the Finnish andragologists age and work experience were associated to educator\u2019s\nempathy. The educators with more age and more work experience were the most empathic to\ntheir students. Among the Finnish factors the most prominent was educators trust the student\nand the least prominent was frustration of the educator. Among the American factors the most\nprominent was educator trusts the students\u201d and the least prominent was indifference of the\neducator. The most prominent indicators in the American factors were the age of the educator\nand work experience in relation to how much the educator trusted the students, how much\nempathy the educator expressed towards the students and how unique the educator regarded\nthe students. In the Finnish background variable factors the age and the work experience were\nrelated to educator\u2019s empathy and how the educator trusted the students. In the American\nbackground variable factors the age and the educator\u2019s educational history in relation to how\nmuch the educator trusted the students, how much empathy the educator expressed towards\nthe students and how unique the educator regarded the students.\nThe data shows that educator\u2019s trust and empathy expressed towards the students were most\nprominent among the older educators in the both Finnish and American factors. The factor\nanalysis of the background variables proved the differences between the Finnish and the\nAmerican educational cultures.
